    & CNS. EXPOSURE TO LEAD FROM A BATTERY MOST OFTEN OCCURS DURING
    LEAD RECLAIM OPERATION THROUGH T HE BREATHING OR INGESTION OF LEAD
    DUSTS& FUMES. THIS SHEET MUST BE PASSED TO ANY SCRAP DEALER OR
    SMELTER WHEN THE BATTERY IS RESOLD. SULFURIC ACID: SULFURIC ACID IS
    A STRONG CORROSIVE. CONTACT WITH AC ID CAN CAUSE SEVERE BURNS TO
    THE SKIN & EYES. INGESTION OF SULFURIC ACID WILL CAUSE GI TRACT
    BURNS. ACID IS RELEASED ONLY IF BATTERY CASE IS DAMAGED OR BATTERY
    IS TAMPERED WITH.
Explanation of Carcinogenicity:LEAD: IARC GROUP 2B (POSSIBLY HUMAN
    CARCINOGENIC)
Effects of Overexposure:THE SYMPTOMS OF LEAD OVEREXPOSURE ARE ANEMIA,
    VOMITING, HEADACHE, STOMACH PAIN (LEAD COLIC), DIZZINESS, LOSS OF
    APPETITE & MUSCLES & JOINTS PAIN. SULFURIC AICD:  SEVERE BURNS TO
    THE SKIN, EYES, MOUTH  AND GI TRACT.

=======================  First Aid Measures  =======================

First Aid:SULFURIC ACID-SKIN CONTACT: FLUSH WITH WATER, SEE PHYSICIAN
    IF CONTACT AREA IS LARGE, OR BLISTERS FORM. EYE CONTACT: CALL A
    PHYSICIAN IMMEDIATELY, FLUSH WITH WATER UNTIL PHYSICIAN ARRIVES.
    INGESTION:	CALL PHYSICIAN, DO NOT INDUCE VOMITING. DO NOT GIVE
    ANYTHING TO AN UNCONSCIOUS PERSON.

Extinguishing Media:N/P. USE MEDIA SUITABLE FOR SURROUNDING FIRE
    (HMIS).
Unusual Fire/Explosion Hazard:N/P. BATTERIES MAY EXPLODE IN THE HEAT OF
    FIRE, RELEASING TOXIC FUMES (HMIS).

Spill Release Procedures:IF SULFURIC ACID IS SPILLED FROM A BATTERY,
    NEUTRALIZE THE ACID WITH SODIUM BICARBONATE (BAKING SODA), SODIUM
    CARBONATE (SODA ASH) OR CALCIUM OXIDE (LIME). FLUSH THE AREA, AND
    DISPOSE OF AS HAZARDOUS  WASTE.
Neutralizing Agent:IF SULFURIC ACID IS SPILLED FROM A BATTERY,
    NEUTRALIZE THE ACID WITH SODIUM BICARBONATE (BAKING SODA), LIME

Other Precautions:ELECTRICAL SAFETY: DUE TO THE LOW INTERNAL RESISTANCE
    OF POWER BATTERIES & HIGH POWER DENSITY, HIGH LEVELS OF SHORT
    CIRCUIT CURRENT CAN BE DEVELOPED ACROSS THE BATTERY TERMINALS. DO
    NOT REST TOOLS OR  CABLES ON THE BATTERY. USE INSULATED TOOLS ONLY.
    FOLLOW  INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS & DIAGRAMS WHEN I NSTALLING.

Respiratory Protection:PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT MUST BE WORN IF THE BATTERY

    THESE BATTERIES TO THE SMELTERS, THE USER MUST FOLLOW DEPARTM ENT
    OF TRANSPORTATION (DOT) REGULATIONS. A COPY OF
