3. HAZARDS IDENTIFICATION


Emergency Overview: This formulation is considered to be low toxicity. The most likely routes of entry are dermal and
inhalation. The product is a yellow-orange granule with an aromatic odor There have no reports from the field of
significant exposure of workers to Balan DF. Avoid excessive heat and sunlight.


Potential Adverse Health Effects: Pre-existing skin disorders may be aggravated by exposure. There have been reports of nausea,
headache, rash, eye irritation and dyspnea. None of components are listed as a potential carcinogen. Rare or singular events also
reported: fever, paresthessia, drowsiness, aplastic anemia, anaphylactoid reaction, syncope, abdominal cramping, coughing, liver pain,
loss of memory, diaphoresis, mouth burning, hand burning, face edema, loss of taste, muscle spasm and dizziness.


Likely routes of Exposure: Dermal and Inhalation
Dermal Contact: This formulation may cause acute effects of repeated or prolonged exposure, be sure and wear the proper
protective equipment (PPE), see section 8.Inhalation Contact: This formulation will cause mild irritation to respiratory tract, wear
proper PPE, see section 8.
Potential Health Effects: Solvent vapor may irritate eyes and may cause moderate eye irritation with corneal injury. Single dose oral
ingestion of product is considered of low toxicity. This product does not cause cancerous tumors.



4. FIRST AID MEASURES
If on Skin: Remove all contaminated clothing. Wash skin, hair and fingernails thoroughly with soap and water. If irritation
persists seek medical attention. Wash clothing before reuse.
If Inhaled: Remove to fresh air. If breathing is difficult, please administer oxygen. If breathing stops administer artificial
respiration. Get medical attention immediately.
If Swallowed: Do not induce vomiting. If available, administer activated charcoal (6-8 heaping teaspoonful) with a large quantity
of water. Do not give give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Call a physician to get medical attention, the emergency
telephone number is 1-800-228-5635 extension 136.
If in eyes: Flush with running water for at least 15 minutes while holding open eyelids to help flush out material. If irritation
persists, seek medical attention.


5. FIRE FIGHTING MEASURES

Fire Extinguishing Media: Carbon dioxide, dry chemiical
Special Fire Fighting Procedures: If formulation involved in a fire, noxious fumes may be produced. Wear self-contained
breathing apparatus and full protective clothing. Fight fire from upwind and keep all non-essential personnel out of area of
intense smoke.
Unusual Fire or Explosion Hazards: If water is used to fight fire, contain run-off, using dikes to prevent contamination of
water supplies. Keep containers cooled with water spray.

6. ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES

Release or Spill: Contain spill, absorb with clay or other absorbent material; sweep up material and place in container for
possible land application according to label use or for proper disposal. Check local, state and federal regulations for proper
disposal.



7. HANDLING AND STORAGE
Keep out of reach of children. Harmful if swallowed, inhaled or absorbed thorough the skin. Avoid breathing spray mist and
other contact with skin, eyes or clothing. See Section 8 for PPE. Do not contaminate water supplies by handling and storage of
product.


8. EXPOSURE CONTROLS / PERSONAL PROTECTION
Personal Protective Equipment:
Eye Protection: Chemical goggles or shielded safety glasses
Skin Protection: Wear protective clothing: long-sleeved shirts and pants, shoes with socks. Wear waterproof gloves.
Respiratory Protection: In enclosed spaces, use MSHA/NIOSH approved dust respirator.
Ventilation: Not normally required. If vapors exceed the acceptable levels, Wear MSHA/NIOSH approved respirator with
cartridges for pesticide vapors. Local exhaust ventilation may be necessary for some operations.

Note, the following PPE requirements address handler/applicator requirements under FIFRA and may differ from what is felt necessary to
address a clean up needs during formulation/manufacturing or other incidents with this product.
Personal protective Equipment: Applicators and other handlers must wear:
Long-sleeve shirt and long pants, waterproof gloves plus shoes and socks. Follow manufacturer鈥檚 instructions for cleaning and
maintaining PPE. If no instructions for washables, use detergent and hot water. Keep and wash PPE separately from other domestic
laundry.

Incompatibility with Other Materials: Do not store in direct sunlight
Hazardous Decomposition Products : Will emit toxic vapors as it burns. Oxides of carbon formed from combustion.
Hazardous Polymerization: Will not occur.
