3. HAZARD IDENTIFICATION
This material is of low acute toxicity by oral and dermal exposure but, is a
moderate skin irritant and is assumed to be an eye irritant. A Magnusson and
Kligman dermal sensitization test gave a negative result.
Users should note that if soluble ionic platinum-halogeno complexes are
prepared from this material those complexes are likely to be allergenic. If
sensitization to Platinum compounds occurs, all further exposure to ionic
Platinum compounds must be prevented. 聽 聽

4. FIRST AID MEASURES
Over-exposure may produce the following symptoms -
First Aid
Inhalation - irritating to the eyes, nose, throat and respiratory tract, producing
coughing.
Ingestion - nausea and vomiting.
Eye contact - redness, irritation, blurred vision and pain.
Skin - redness and irritation with possible tissue damage. 聽 聽

symptoms persist or tissue damage is evident, seek medical attention.
Launder clothing before re-use. 聽

5. FIRE FIGHTING MEASURES
Although the material is not flammable, toxic fumes will be produced if
involved in a fire. The residue, ash or char left after a fire may have catalytic
properties and may promote the re-ignition of flammable materials and
vapours. Wear self-contained breathing apparatus and personal protective
equipment. Use any extinguisher suitable for the surrounding fire. 聽 聽
