DESCRIPTION
鈥? Wattyl ESTAPOL庐 Gloss/Satin/Matt (Instant ESTAPOL庐) is an interior clear single pack polyurethane finish suitable for
all interior timbers.
PRINCIPAL CHARACTERISTICS
鈥? Suitable for interior use only.
鈥? Provides an extremely durable finish.
鈥? Excellent resistance to heat, household chemicals and hard water.
COLOURS AND GLOSS
鈥? Clear, however will impart a rich golden hue. If not desirable use Water Based ESTAPOL庐 Clear 鈥? Gloss/Satin (5.13) for
a true 鈥渨ater white鈥? clear.
鈥? Gloss, Satin or Matt
BASIC DATA
鈥? Surface Dry Two (2) 鈥? three (3) hours
鈥? Recoat Eight (8) hours
鈥? Fully Cured Three (3) days minimum o general use. Ten (10) days in winter.

All figures are quoted 25 C and 50% relative humidity. Drying will take longer at lower
temperatures or higher relative humidity.
鈥? Coverage per coat 16 M2/L (depending on the texture, surface porosity and method of application).
鈥? Wet Film Thickness 62 microns
鈥? Dry Film Thickness 25 microns
鈥? Thinning If required, thin sparingly with mineral turps.
鈥? Clean up Thoroughly clean equipment with mineral turps.
RECOMMENDED SUBSTRATE CONDITIONS AND TEMPERATURE
鈥? Suitable for use on interior timber, tables, panelling, built in furniture etc. Gloss & Satin may be used on floors but Matt is
not suitable for floors.
鈥? Not suitable for benchtops, linoleum, vinyl or ceramic tiles. Some cork tiles are also unsuitable and it is advisable to test
two (2) coats on one tile before use.
鈥? ESTAPOL庐 Matt can be used with Wattyl Natural Teak Oil to achieve a natural oiled look while retaining the resistant
qualities of an ESTAPOL庐 finish.

鈥? Application should not be carried out if the air temperature or the substrate temperature is below 10 C or above 35 C.
o
The temperature must not fall below 10 C during the drying process.
鈥? New Timber (Except Flooring)
鈥? Ensure all new timber is free of dirt or grease and dry. Fill nail holes or cracks with Wattyl Timber Putty (D1.08) in a
matching colour. Allow to dry. Sand smooth and remove dust.
If a completely smooth finish is required fill open grained timbers such as Maple, with Wattyl Grain Filler (D1.09). Allow
24 hours to dry.
Stain if required with Wattyl Traditional Stain (D5.02) or Wattyl Interior Stain (D5.02).
MDF must be sealed with Wattyl Water Based ESTAPOL庐 Clear鈥? Gloss/Satin (5.13) before applying Wattyl ESTAPOL庐
Gloss/Satin/Matt.
鈥? Flooring
Ensure surface is free of dirt or grease and dry. Fill timber nail holes with Wattyl Timber Putty (D1.08) in a matching
colour. Allow to dry. Sand smooth and remove dust. If recoating Estapol ensure the surface is free from any grease or
dirt. Sand well and remove dust. For all other coatings remove completely by sanding and treat as bare timber.

鈥? Previously Varnished Timber in Poor Condition
If varnish is badly worn or peeling, completely remove by scraping, sanding or paint stripper. Treat bare timber as new
work.
Note: Do not use ESTAPOL庐 Gloss/ Satin/Matt over Wattyl ESTAPOL庐 7008 (D5.07). Do not apply excessively heavy
coats to horizontal surfaces as this will extend the through-dry time of the product which may result in it being 鈥渓ifted鈥? by
subsequent coats.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
鈥? Stir contents thoroughly with a flat stirrer before and during use, ensuring that the product does not aerate, as this will
produce bubbles in the finish..
鈥? Apply two (2) to three (3) generous coats, by brush, spray equipment or Wattyl lambswool applicator for floors at intervals
of not less than eight (8) hours. Lightly sand between coats.

鈥? Caution Flammable
Provide adequate ventilation during use.
鈥? Spills and Disposal Do not allow spilt material to enter drains or other watercourses. Absorb spills with sand or other
inert material. Unwanted paint should be kept in a sealed container, such as an empty paint can,
and disposed of via special waste collection services. Check with your local Council regarding the
disposal of empty paint containers.
鈥? M.S.D.S. A Material Safety Data Sheet (M.S.D.S.) is available on request.
鈥? First Aid
If swallowed do not induce vomiting. Give plenty of water to drink. Contact a doctor or the Poisons Information Centre.

If in eyes, hold eyes open and flood with water for at least 15 minutes. Contact a doctor if any irritation occurs.
If on skin remove contaminated clothing, wash skin thoroughly with soap and water or a proprietary skin cleanser. Do not
use solvents.
If affected by inhalation remove person to fresh air. If breathing difficulties persist or occur later, contact a doctor.

鈥? Containers must be secured and stored upright during transit.
鈥? Containers must not be exposed to excessive heat or cold.
