3. HAZARDS IDENTIFICATION

This product contains no hazardous ingredients in concentrations greater than 1% or carcinogens in concentrations greater
than 0.1%.

See section 11for health effects of sodium azide, a preservative for this product.

Primary route of exposure: Skin contact
Secondary routes of exposure: Eye contact, inhalation and ingestion.
Target organs: Eyes, skin, Centrl nervouis System (CNS) and kidneys.
4. FIRST AID MEASURES
4.1 Special instructions# - none
4.2 Inhalation# If inhaled, remove to fresh air. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen and seek medical advice.
4.3 Skin# Rinse immediately with copious amount of water and wash with mild soap solution.
4.4 Splashes in eyes# Rinse immediately with copious amount of water at least 15 minutes and seek medical
advice.
4.5 Ingestion If ingested, seek medical assistance.

6. ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES
6.1 Personal precautions# See section 7.1.
6.2 Environmental precautions# If safety allows do not allow run off to sewer, waterway or ground.
6.3 Methods for cleaning up Trained personnel with a preplan may choose to absorb on sand, paper, vermiculite or
other appropriate material and place in a closed container for disposal. Ventilate and wash the area with water
and detergent.
6.4 Other instructions Liquid contains sodium azide as a preservative. Sodium Azide may react with lead, copper,
brass and solder plumbing to form highly explosive metal azides. Dispose of in accordance with federal, state and
local regulations.
6.5 Other instructions Proper handling of waste after adding radioactive isotopes shall be observed.

7. HANDLING AND STORAGE
7.1 Handling Wear safety goggles, face shield, apron torso protection and resistant gloves. If splashing can occur
wear protective equipment acording to 29 CFR 1910.132. Forms hydroazoic acid in water.
Storage Store at 2 鈥? 8 oC in dry, well ventilated place. Keep away from heat, sparks and open flame. Protect

from direct sunlight. Be aware of the expiration date stated on the bottle.

10. STABILITY AND REACTIVITY
10.1 Conditions to avoid Avoid evaporating solution to residue (Sodium Azide, a preservative in trace amounts, may
decompose explosively).
10.2 Materials to avoid Benzoyl chloride plus potassium hydroxide, bromine, brass, carbon disulfide, chromyl
chloride, copper, dibromalononitrile, dimethyl sulfate, lead, barium carbonate, solder, sulfuric acid and nitric acid.

azide plus acids will release toxic by-products.

Inhalation:
May cause irritation to the respiratory tract and mucous membranes, sore throat, coughing, dizziness, shortness
of breath, and fainting. May be absorbed through inhalation. Symptoms may parallel ingestion.
Ingestion:
Highly Toxic! May cause breathlessness, pulmonary edema and rapid heart beat within 5 minutes. Nausea,
vomiting, headache, restlessness, and diarrhea may occur within 15 minutes. Other symptoms may include low
blood pressure, abnormal breathing, reduced body temperature, reduced body pH, convulsions, collapse and
death.
Skin Contact:
Highly Toxic! Causes irritation, redness, and pain. May be absorbed through the skin; symptoms may parallel
ingestion.
Eye Contact:
Causes irritation, redness, pain, and blurred vision.
