Flammable liquid and vapor.
CNS depressant. Eye, skin and respiratory tract irritant.
Toxic by inhalation, ingestion and skin contact.

Potential Health May cause eye, skin and respiratory tract irritation and central nervous system
Effects Summary depression with headache, dizziness, nausea and unconsciousness.
Over-exposure may lead to redness, itching, burning of eyes and skin, tearing of
eyes, and blindness. Central nervous system depression that may result in coma and
death.

Section 4 First Aid Measures
Inhalation If product is inhaled, move exposed individual to fresh air. If individual is not
breathing, begin artiï¬cial respiration immediately and obtain medical attention.
Eye Contact If product enters eyes, wash eyes gently under running water for 15 minutes or
longer, making sure that the eyelids are held open. If pain or irritation occur, obtain
medical attention.
Skin Contact In case of skin contact, flush with copious amounts of water for at least 15 minutes.
Remove contaminated clothing and shoes. If pain or irritation occur, obtain medical
attention.
Ingestion If ingested, wash mouth out with water. If irritation or discomfort occurs, seek medical
attention.

Primary Routes The most likely routes of exposure are skin and eye contact. Inhalation may occur if

Potential Effects of Methanol may cause irritation to skin, eyes and respiratory systems. Ingestion
Acute Exposure and absorption through the skin may cause kidney impairment and blindness.
Overexposure may lead to acidosis, convulsions, circulatory collapse, respiratory
failure and death.
Potential Effects of Frequent or long-term exposure may result in central nervous system depression,
Chronic Exposure conjunctivitis and dermatitis. Animal studies indicate repeated ingestion of small
amounts can cause severe kidney damage.
Symptoms of Symptoms of overexposure may include: eye, skin, nose and throat irritation;
Overexposure headache, weakness, dizziness, confusion, nausea and vomiting. Severe cases
may exhibit difï¬culty in breathing, irregular heartbeat, reddish colored skin,
unconsciousness, convulsions, coma and death. Symptoms may be delayed for
several hours after exposure.
