III. FIRST AID PROCEDURES
__________________________________________________________________

Early signs of intoxication may include mydriases (dilated pupils), ataxia (unsteadiness), and muscle
tremors. Toxicity following accidental ingestion of the concentrate can be minimized by inducing vomiting
with one half hour of exposure.
If toxicity from exposure has progressed to cause severe vomiting, the extent of resultant fluid and
electrolyte imbalance should be gauged. Appropriate supportive parenteral fluid replacement therapy
should be given, along with other required supportive measures (such as maintenance of blood pressure
levels) as indicated by clinical signs, symptoms and measurements.
In severe cases, observations should continue for at least several days until clinical condition is
stable and normal. Since abamectin B1 is believed to enhance GABA activity in animals, it is probably wise
to avoid drugs that influence GABA activity (barbiturates, benzodiazapines, valproic acid) in patients with
potentially toxic abamectin B1 exposure.

Ingestion: Immediately give one or two glasses of water and induce vomiting by gently touching back
of throat with finger. Do not induce vomiting or give anything by mouth to an unconscius
person.

Eye Contact: Immediately flush with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. Get medical attention.

Skin Contact: Wash with plenty of soap and water. Get medical attention if symptoms occur.

Inhalation: Remove victim to fresh air. If not breathing, give artificial respiration. Get medical attention if
symptoms persist.

VI. ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION
__________________________________________________________

Waste Disposal Method: Observe all federal, state and local laws concerning health and environment.
In case of Fire: Use dry chemical, alcohol foam, or carbon dioxide extinguishing media. For special fire
fighting procedures: Excessive use of water may create contaminated run-off water which may cause
further contamination. Follow environmental and personal safety precautions noted for spill or leak. Wear
self-contained breathing apparatus and full protective clothing. Move container from fire area if you can do it
without risk. Keep upwind and evacuate personnel in the immediate area. Follow post-fire decontamination
procedures including thorough washing of all fire fighting clothing and equipment. Fire fighters must
thoroughly wash immediately following incident.
In case of Sill or Leak: Isolate hazard area and keep unnecessary people away. Personnel invoved in
cleanup should wear full protecive clothing. Wear goggles and imervious rubber gloves when handling
spilled material. No flares, smoking or flame in isolated area. Wear respiratory protiction for prolonged
exposure. Soak up with sand or other noncombustible material and containerize contaminated material in a
suitable drum for destruction by incineration. Thoroughly clean all nondisposable items contaminated or
used in the cleanup. Run-off from fire control or dilution water may cause water polution. For large spills, a
diversion dike can be made to retain liquid for disposal. Observe all government regulations on spill
reporting, and handling and disposal of waste.

AbacideTM contains a combustible emulsifiable concentrate liquid.
