3. HAZARDS IDENTIFICATION
Class Name of Hazardous Chemicals for SDS in Japan: Not applicable
Adverse Human Health Effects:
Effect of over exposure: We have never faced the poisoning problem attributed to Appeal
5% EC on laboratory researchers, factory workers and users, however, over-exposure
experiments on animals showed that the administration of an extra-ordinary large quantity
of Appeal 5% EC may cause hypoactivity, abnormal walking and prostration.
Environmental Hazard: Toxic to fish

4. FIRST AID MEASURES
Skin Contact: -----Wash material off the skin in flowing water or shower with soap. If irritation
persists, consult a physician immediately.
Eye Contact: ------Immediately flush with copious amount of water for at least 15 minutes. If
irritation persists, consult a physician.
Inhalation: ---------Remove the victim to fresh air and keep him warm and quiet. Get a medical
attention immediately. If not breathing, clear the airway and give artificial
respiration. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen.
Ingestion: ----------Induce vomiting by giving one or two glasses of water. Get a medical

attention immediately. If the victim is unconscious or having convulsions,
never give fluid or induce vomiting.
5. FIRE FIGHTING MEASURES
Flash Point: 97
Flammability: No data available
Extinguishing Media: Dry chemical powder, foam, carbon dioxide or dry sand
Special Fire Fighting Procedure:
鈥? For small fires, use dry chemical powder, carbon dioxide or dry sand.
鈥? For big fires, foam extinguisher is effective to shut off air. Water may enlarge fire.
鈥? For a fire in surrounding area, apply water to cool and protect surrounding equipments.
Remove containers, if feasible, from the fire area to safe place immediately.
鈥? Fire fighters should wear protective gears including a positive pressure self-contained
breathing apparatus (SCBA). Evacuate non essential personnel.
6. ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES
鈥? Evacuate non essential personnel by roping an area of leak or spill. Evacuate people to
upwind of the spilled area. Remove all sources of ignition; No flares, smoking, or flames in
the area immediately. Wear protective gears and never work downwind.
鈥? For small spills, adsorb with inert materials (e.g. dry sand or earth), then place in a waste
chemical container for disposal. Flush residual spill (area) with a plenty of water.
鈥? For large spills, dike with sand to lead spill to safe place and then cover with foam. Place in
a waste chemical container as much as possible. Flush residual spill (area) with a plenty of
water. Prevent spills from entering sewers, watercourses or low areas.
7. HANDLING AND STORAGE
Handling Precaution: KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN
鈥? Wear appropriate protective gears to avoid breathing dust and contact with skin, eyes or
clothing. Handle the product upwind.
鈥? Keep containers tightly closed or the use of local exhaust is recommended.
鈥? Shut off all gas pilot and electrical (spark or hot wire) igniters and other sources of ignition
during use and until all vapours (odours) are gone.
鈥? Wear the clothing and boots that prevent build-up of electrostatic charges.
鈥? Avoid rough handling; dropping, dragging.
鈥? Keep away from oxidizing and alkaline materials.
Storage Precaution:
鈥? All the electrical appliances used in a storage should be installed directly to the ground.
The appliances must be explosion-proof.
鈥? Keep containers tightly closed and store in a cool, dark and dry place.
鈥? Keep away from heat, steam pipe or combustible materials.

8. EXPOSURE CONTROL/PERSONAL PROTECTION
Control Parameters:
ACGIH TLV (1992-93) Not established
Engineering Controls:
鈥? The use of local exhaust ventilations is recommended. Containers should be kept tightly
closed.
鈥? Make available emergency showers and eye washes in a work area.
Personal Protective Equipment:
鈥? Wear chemical cartridge respirator with an organic vapour cartridge, airline respirator,
positive pressure self-contained breathing apparatus, safety goggles, gloves and boots as
appropriate.

9. PHYSICAL AND CHEMICAL PROPERTIES
Appearance, Physical state, Form, Colour, Odour:

13. DISPOSAL CONSIDERATIONS
Waste should be disposed of in a chemical incinerator following the methods mentioned below
as appropriate.
鈥? Burn by spraying into the burner of incinerator equipped with afterburner and scrubber as
toxic gases (hydrochloric gas, etc.) emit while burning.
鈥? For disposal of small amount, adsorb with diatom earth and then burn in chemical incinerator
equipped with afterburner and scrubber.
鈥? Do not dump into sewers or into any body of water.
鈥? The water containing the product should be drained after being cleaned up by activated
sludge.
14. TRANSPORT INFORMATION
鈥? Shippers must give transporters a transport precautionary instruction at the time of shipping
the product.
鈥? Check the leakage of containers before loading. Make sure to load containers correctly to
prevent them from falling down.
鈥? Follow all regulations with regard to transporting chemicals in your country.
15. REGULATORY INFORMATION
Follow all regulations in your country.
