**** SECTION 3 - HAZARDS IDENTIFICATION ****

EMERGENCY OVERVIEW
Toxic by inhalation and if swallowed. Danger of cumulative
effects.Possible risks of irreversible effects.

Potential Health Effects
Eye:
Causes eye irritation. May cause transient keratitis.
Skin:
Causes skin irritation. May be absorbed through damaged or abraded
skin in harmful amounts. May cause skin eruptions.
Ingestion:
Harmful if swallowed. Causes gastrointestinal irritation with
nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. May cause excessive salivation, teeth
decay or discoloration, odorous "garlic" breath and partial loss of
hair and nails. May cause central nervous system effects including
nervousness, drowsiness and convulsions.
Inhalation:
Causes respiratory tract irritation. Can produce delayed pulmonary
edema. Inhaltion may cause coating of the tongue, anemia, irritation
of the mucous membrane, lumbar pain, and possible liver and spleen
damage.
Chronic:
Prolonged or repeated skin contact may cause sensitization
dermatitis and possible destruction and/or ulceration. Chronic
exposure to selenium may cause pallor, garlic breath, metallic
taste, anemia, liver and spleen damage.

**** SECTION 4 - FIRST AID MEASURES ****

Eyes:
Immediately flush eyes with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes,
occasionally lifting the upper and lower eyelids. Get medical aid.
Skin:
Get medical aid. Immediately flush skin with plenty of water for at
least 15 minutes while removing contaminated clothing and shoes.
Wash clothing before reuse.
Ingestion:
If victim is conscious and alert, give 2-4 cupfuls of milk or water.
Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Get medical
aid immediately.
Inhalation:
Remove from exposure and move to fresh air immediately. If not
breathing, give artificial respiration. If breathing is difficult,
give oxygen. Get medical aid.
Notes to Physician:
Due to delayed and persistent symptoms, observe patient closely for
48 hours. Persons with asthma, allergies, hypersensitivity,
pre-existing insult to the eyes, skin, or respiratory tract, and
diseases of the lung, kidney, and liver may be at increased risk from
exposure to this product. Monitor pulmonary function closely.
Treatment options include ipecac/lavage, activated charcoal,
cathartics--admisitered within two hours of ingestion. Treat
symptomatically and supportively.
Antidote:
None reported.

**** SECTION 5 - FIRE FIGHTING MEASURES ****

General Information:
As in any fire, wear a self-contained breathing apparatus in
pressure-demand, MSHA/NIOSH (approved or equivalent), and full
protective gear. Water runoff can cause environmental damage. Dike
and collect water used to fight fire. During a fire, irritating and
highly toxic gases may be generated by thermal decomposition or
combustion.
Extinguishing Media:
For small fires, use water spray, dry chemical, carbon dioxide or
chemical foam. Use extinguishing media most appropriate for the
surrounding fire. For large fires, use water spray, fog or regular
foam.

**** SECTION 6 - ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES ****

General Information: Use proper personal protective equipment as indicated
in Section 8.
Spills/Leaks:
Clean up spills immediately, observing precautions in the Protective
Equipment section. Sweep up or absorb material, then place into a
suitable clean, dry, closed container for disposal. Avoid generating
dusty conditions. Provide ventilation.

**** SECTION 7 - HANDLING and STORAGE ****

Handling:
Wash thoroughly after handling. Remove contaminated clothing and
wash before reuse. Use only in a well-ventilated area. Minimize dust
generation and accumulation. Avoid contact with eyes, skin, and
clothing. Do not breathe dust, vapor, mist, or gas. Keep container
tightly closed. Do not ingest or inhale. Wash clothing before reuse.
Storage:
Keep from freezing. Store in a tightly closed container. Store in a
cool, dry, well-ventilated area away from incompatible substances.
Store below 40C.

Engineering Controls:
Facilities storing or utilizing this material should be equipped
with an eyewash facility and a safety shower. Use adequate
ventilation to keep airborne concentrations low.
