**** SECTION 3 - HAZARDS IDENTIFICATION ****

EMERGENCY OVERVIEW
Highly flammable. Spontaneously flammable in air. May form explosive
peroxides. Causes burns. Irritating to eyes and respiratory
system.Air sensitive.

Potential Health Effects
Eye:
Contact with eyes may cause severe irritation, and possible eye
burns. Vapors may cause eye irritation.
Skin:
Causes skin irritation. Prolonged and/or repeated contact may cause
defatting of the skin and dermatitis.
Ingestion:
Harmful if swallowed. May cause gastrointestinal irritation with
nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. May cause headache. May cause nausea
and vomiting. May cause unconsciousness. May cause central nervous
system depression.
Inhalation:
Inhalation of high concentrations may cause central nervous system
effects characterized by nausea, headache, dizziness, unconsciousness
and coma. Causes respiratory tract irritation.
Chronic:
Prolonged or repeated eye contact may cause conjunctivitis.
Prolonged or repeated skin contact may cause defatting and
dermatitis. May cause liver and kidney damage.

**** SECTION 4 - FIRST AID MEASURES ****

Eyes:
Immediately flush eyes with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes,
occasionally lifting the upper and lower eyelids. Get medical aid
immediately.
Skin:
Immediately flush skin with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes
while removing contaminated clothing and shoes. Get medical aid if
irritation develops or persists. Discard contaminated clothing in a
manner which limits further exposure.
Ingestion:
If victim is conscious and alert, give 2-4 cupfuls of milk or water.
Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Get medical
aid. Get medical aid immediately.
Inhalation:
Get medical aid immediately. Remove from exposure and move to fresh
air immediately. If not breathing, give artificial respiration. If
breathing is difficult, give oxygen.

**** SECTION 5 - FIRE FIGHTING MEASURES ****

General Information:
As in any fire, wear a self-contained breathing apparatus in
pressure-demand, MSHA/NIOSH (approved or equivalent), and full
protective gear. Vapors can travel to a source of ignition and flash
back. Will burn if involved in a fire. Wear appropriate protective
clothing to prevent contact with skin and eyes. Wear a
self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) to prevent contact with
thermal decomposition products. Extremely flammable liquid and vapor.
Forms peroxides of unknown stability.
Extinguishing Media:
For small fires, use dry chemical, carbon dioxide, water spray or
alcohol-resistant foam. Use water spray to cool fire-exposed
containers. Water may be ineffective. Do NOT use halogenated agents.
DO NOT USE WATER! Use dry chemical.

**** SECTION 6 - ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES ****

General Information: Use proper personal protective equipment as indicated
in Section 8.
Spills/Leaks:
Absorb spill with inert material (e.g. vermiculite, sand or earth),
then place in suitable container. Use water spray to dilute spill to
a non-flammable mixture. Remove all sources of ignition. Use a
spark-proof tool.

**** SECTION 7 - HANDLING and STORAGE ****

Handling:
Wash thoroughly after handling. Use only in a well-ventilated area.
Avoid contact with eyes, skin, and clothing. Do not breathe dust,
vapor, mist, or gas. Empty containers retain product residue,
(liquid and/or vapor), and can be dangerous. Keep container tightly
closed. Keep away from heat, sparks and flame. Avoid ingestion and
inhalation. Use and store under nitrogen. Container should be opened
by a technically qualified person. Use only in a chemical fume hood.
Prevent build up of vapors to explosive concentration. Do not
pressurize, cut, weld, braze, solder, drill, grind, or expose empty
containers to heat, sparks or open flames.
Storage:
Keep away from heat, sparks, and flame. Keep away from sources of
ignition. Store in a cool place in the original container and
protect from sunlight. Store in a cool, dry place. Store in a
tightly closed container. Keep from contact with oxidizing
materials. Flammables-area. Regularly check inhibitor levels to
maintain peroxide levels below 1%.

Facilities storing or utilizing this material should be equipped
with an eyewash facility and a safety shower. Use adequate general or

**** SECTION 10 - STABILITY AND REACTIVITY ****

Chemical Stability:
Prolonged exposure to air and sunlight may form unstable peroxides.
Explosive peroxides may form on concentration. Peroxides can be
detonated by friction, impact, or heating. Peroxide formation may
occur in containers that have been opened and remain in storage.
