The following can be given off in a fire: carbon dioxide (CO2) and
steam.
In addition small quantities of the following substances can be
formed: carbon monoxide, monomers, other degradation products,
hydrogen cyanide (traces).
Special protective equipment: In case of fire, wear a self contained
breathing apparatus.
Further information: Dispose of fire debris and contaminated
extinguishing water in accordance with local regulations.
6. Accidental release measures
Methods for cleaning up: Sweep/shovel up.
7. Handling and storage
Handling
Gaseous products of degradation can be given off if the product is
greatly overheated: monomers, other degradation products, traces of
hydrogen cyanide.
When heated can give off ignitable vapours.
Avoid inhalation of vapour.
Processing machines must be fitted with local exhaust ventilation.
When the product is ground (chopped), dust explosion regulations
should be noted.
Protection against fire and explosion:
no special measures necessary
Storage
Keep in a dry place.
8. Exposure controls and personal protection

Components with workplace control parameters
The following can be given off when the product is processed
(traces):
Styrene: CAS鈭扤o. 100鈭?42鈭?5
Observe the appropriate MAK value (Germany);
TRGS 900 (Germany)
buta鈭?1,3鈭抎iene CAS鈭扤o. 106鈭?99鈭?0
Acrylonitrile: CAS鈭扤o. 107鈭?13鈭?1
The relevant TRK value (Germany) should be noted;
TRGS 100, 102 (Germany)
EC category C2
Given suitable ventilation, it can be assumed that the threshold
limits will not be reached.
Personal protective equipment
Respiratory protection: If breathable dust is formed Filter P1 (for
solid particles) (DIN 3181).
Eye protection: safety glasses
General safety and hygiene measures: When using, do not eat, drink or
smoke. Hands and/or face should be washed before breaks and at the
end of the shift.
