                     For crystalline KOH:

ACUTE EFFECTS:

                     Oral-rat LD50: 365 mg/kg; may be fatal if inhaled, swallowed, or absorbed through the skin. Depending on

                     the intensity and duration of exposure, effects may vary from mild irritation to severe destruction of tissue.

                        The RG019 solution with a 0.3% KOH will irritate skin, eyes, mucous membranes, and upper respiratory

                        tract; it can also be corrosive and cause burns.

CHRONIC EFFECTS:Not established.

                        Immediately flush with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes; assure adequate flushing by separating

EYE CONTACT:

                        eyelids with fingers. Get medical assistance.

                        Immediately wash with 1% acetic acid (or vinegar) to neutralize, followed with plenty of water while

SKIN CONTACT:

                        removing contaminated clothing and shoes. Wash contaminated clothing before reuse. For chemical burns,

                        apply sterile bandage securely, but not too tightly. Get medical assistance.

INHALATION:

                        Give water freely and/or 1% acetic (or vinegar), followed by milk. Do not induce vomiting. Get medical
