STABILITY AND REACTIVITY DATA

Hazardous decomposition products: In combustion emits toxic fumes of hydrogen iodide.
HAZARDS IDENTIFICATION
Main hazards: Harmful by inhalation, in contact with skin and if swallowed. May
cause sensitization by inhalation and skin contact.
FIRST AID MEASURES (SYMPTOMS)
Skin contact: There may be irritation and redness at the site of contact.
Eye contact: There may be irritation and redness. The eyes may water profusely.
Ingestion: There may be soreness and redness of the mouth and throat. The
breathing may become shallow and rapid. There may be vomiting
and diarrhea.
Inhalation: There may be irritation of the throat with a feeling of tightness in the
chest. Absorption through the lungs can occur causing symptoms
similar to those of ingestion.
FIRST AID MEASURES (ACTION)
Skin contact: Drench the affected skin with running water for 10 minutes or longer
if substance is still on skin. Consult a doctor.
Eye contact: Bathe the eye with running water for 15 minutes. Consult a doctor.
Ingestion: Do not induce vomiting. If conscious, give half a liter of water to
drink immediately. Transfer to hospital as soon as possible.
Inhalation: Remove casualty from exposure ensuring one's own safety whilst
doing so. Consult a doctor.
FIRE FIGHTING MEASURES
Extinguishing media: Water. Carbon dioxide. Alcohol or polymer foam. Dry chemical
powder.
Exposure Hazards : Harmful.
Protection of fire-fighters: Wear self-contained breathing apparatus. Wear protective clothing
to prevent contact with skin and eyes.
ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES
Personal precautions: Refer to 鈥? Personal Protection details鈥? column of the MSDS.
Environmental precautions: Do not discharge into drains or rivers.
Clean-up procedures: Wash down the drain with large amounts of water. Wash the spillage
site with large amounts of water.

Handling requirements: Avoid direct contact with the substance.
Storage conditions: Store in cool, well-ventilated area. Keep container tightly closed.
Avoid contact with water or humidity.
