**** SECTION 3 - HAZARDS IDENTIFICATION ****

EMERGENCY OVERVIEW
Harmful by inhalation and if swallowed. Irritating to eyes,
respiratory system and skin. Limited evidence of a carcinogenic
effect. May cause sensitization by skin contact.

Potential Health Effects
Eye:
Causes eye irritation. Causes redness and pain.
Skin:
Causes skin irritation. Causes redness and pain. May cause
sensitization by skin contact.
Ingestion:
Harmful if swallowed. May cause irritation of the digestive tract.
Symptoms may include: headache, excitement, fatigue, nausea,
vomiting, stupor, and coma.
Inhalation:
Harmful if inhaled. Causes respiratory tract irritation. May cause
irritation of the respiratory tract with burning pain in the nose and
throat, coughing, wheezing, shortness of breath and pulmonary edema.
May cause anosmia (loss of smell). May produce nausea in low
concentration and pulmonary edema in high concentrations. Inhalation
of vapors may cause nausea, vomiting, dizziness, and loss of
consciousness.
Chronic:
Prolonged or repeated skin contact may cause dermatitis. Prolonged
or repeated eye contact may cause conjunctivitis. Repeated inhalation
may cause chronic bronchitis. Prolonged or repeated exposure may
cause permanent eye damage. Possible risk of irreversible effects.

**** SECTION 4 - FIRST AID MEASURES ****

Eyes:
Flush eyes with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes,
occasionally lifting the upper and lower eyelids. Get medical aid
immediately.
Skin:
Get medical aid. Flush skin with plenty of water for at least 15
minutes while removing contaminated clothing and shoes.
Ingestion:
Get medical aid. If conscious drink water, then induce vomiting. If
unconscious, immediately take victim to a physician and do NOT
attempt to induce vomiting. Wash mouth out with water.
Inhalation:
Remove from exposure and move to fresh air immediately. If not
breathing, give artificial respiration. If breathing is difficult,
give oxygen. Get medical aid.
Notes to Physician:

**** SECTION 5 - FIRE FIGHTING MEASURES ****

General Information:
As in any fire, wear a self-contained breathing apparatus in
pressure-demand, MSHA/NIOSH (approved or equivalent), and full
protective gear. Dusts at sufficient concentrations can form
explosive mixtures with air. Will burn if involved in a fire.
Combustible solid.
Extinguishing Media:
Use water spray, dry chemical, carbon dioxide, or chemical foam.

**** SECTION 6 - ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES ****

General Information: Use proper personal protective equipment as indicated
in Section 8.
Spills/Leaks:
Vacuum or sweep up material and place into a suitable disposal
container. Avoid generating dusty conditions.

**** SECTION 7 - HANDLING and STORAGE ****

Handling:
Avoid breathing dust, vapor, mist, or gas. Avoid contact with skin
and eyes. Take precautionary measures against static discharges.
Storage:
Keep away from sources of ignition. Store in a cool, dry place.
Store in a tightly closed container.

**** SECTION 8 - EXPOSURE CONTROLS, PERSONAL PROTECTION ****

Engineering Controls:
Facilities storing or utilizing this material should be equipped
with an eyewash facility and a safety shower. Use adequate general or
local exhaust ventilation to keep airborne concentrations below the
permissible exposure limits.
Exposure Limits
CAS# 30525-89-4:

Personal Protective Equipment
