CROP PEST RATE OF APPLICATION
Aids In Control Of 4.3 OZ/A
RICE
Rice Water Weevil (Larva) (0.05 LB AI/A)

DIRECTIONS FOR USE:
Mustang Insecticide may be impregnated on dry bulk fertilizers to aid in the control of rice water weevil larva. Fertilizers should be
impregnated (see directions below) with Mustang Insecticide only by properly equipped commercial chemical or fertilizer dealerships whose
primary business is rice. Apply a minimum of 150 pounds of dry bulk fertilizer impregnated with 4.3 ounces of Mustang Insecticide per acre.
Application should be made from one day after permanent flooding, but no less than 14 days prior to harvest. Larval counts using coring
techniques should be used to determine when applications might be necessary. The first larval count should be taken after permanent flood and
rice emergence. Treat when the average larval count per 4鈥? x 3鈥? core sample is 5 larvae. Repeat sampling at 5-7 day intervals if treatment
threshold is not reached.
Refer to the Louisiana Cooperative Extension Pest Management Guidelines for additional information, on recommended sampling methods and
treatment thresholds.
Fertilizer Impregnation Directions:
Apply using a minimum of 150 pounds of dry bulk fertilizer per acre with the recommended amount of Mustang Insecticide per acre. To
impregnate dry fertilizer with Mustang Insecticide, follow these steps: 1) Prepare a solution using the rate of Mustang Insecticide per acre with
adequate amount of water to create the solution. 2) Impregnate the dry fertilizer with the Mustang Insecticide solution in a closed rotary drum-
type mixer, allowing sufficient time to ensure uniform coverage. 3) Place delivery nozzle(s) inside the mixer, positioning them to provide
uniform spray coverage of the tumbling fertilizer. Use the finished product as soon as possible after blending.
Note that the physical properties of fertilizers vary, particularly in liquid absorptive capacity. When absorption is sufficient, simple spraying the
fertilizer with a Mustang Insecticide solution provides a satisfactory dry mixture. If the absorptive capacity is inadequate, the use of a highly
absorptive powder is required to provide a dry, free-flowing mixture. Microcel E (Johns-Manville Products Corporation) is a recommended
absorbent powder. Generally less than 2% by weight of Microcel E is required. DO NOT impregnate Mustang Insecticide onto straight-coated
ammonium nitrate or straight limestone because these materials will not absorb the insecticide. Dry fertilizer blends containing mixtures of
ammonium nitrate or limestone may be impregnated with Mustang Insecticide. The amount of Mustang Insecticide actually required in the
preparation of individual fertilizer mixtures should be determined carefully for each production operation to ensure that the amount of pesticide
actually contained in the mixture represents the correct rate of use. Thoroughly clean blending and application equipment to remove all traces
of Mustang Insecticide impregnated fertilizer before using the equipment to mix or apply fertilizer to crops other than rice. It is the
responsibility of the individual and/or company selling the fertilizer/insecticide mixture to follow all state regulations relating to dry bulk
fertilizer blending labeling.

(foliar application) as a Mustang Insecticide application, no more than three applications of Mustang Max Insecticide at 0.025 pound AI per
acre per application can be applied for every single application of Mustang Insecticide at 0.05 pound AI/acre.
Do not make applications less than 7 days apart.
Do not release floodwater within 7 days of application.
Do not use treated rice field for the aquaculture of edible fish and crustacean.
Do not apply within 14 days of harvest.
