Conditions

Potential Environmental Effects

Although not expected within the intended shipping and use of the product, releases into
the environment of large quantities of the contents of the product may result in organic
mercury contamination of the resources impacted by the release (water, soil).

SECTION 4 - FIRST AID MEASURES

Eye Immediately flush eye(s) with water for at least fifteen minutes
occasionally lifting the upper and lower lids. Should irritation of
the eye(s) persist, seek medical attention. Eye contact with used
product should be considered a biohazard exposure incident.

Skin In case of contact with the contents of the product, wash the area
with plenty of soap and water for at least fifteen minutes. Remove
clothing and shoes if in contact with contents of the product and
wash clothing and shoes before reuse. Should irritation of the skin
persist, seek medical attention. Non-intact skin contact with used
product should be considered a biohazard exposure incident.

Inhalation Remove exposed person to fresh air (away from aerosolized
product). If victim is not breathing, give artificial respiration. If
inhalation has resulted in labored breathing, respiratory tract
irritation or other symptoms, seek medical attention. Inhalation of
used product should be considered a biohazard exposure incident.

Ingestion Wash out mouth with water. Do not induce vomiting. Give large
amounts of water. Never give anything by mouth to an
unconscious person. Seek medical attention immediately.
Ingestion of used product should be considered a biohazard
exposure incident.

As of the date of preparation of this document, the foregoing information is believed to be accurate and is provided in good faith to

SECTION 5 - FIRE FIGHTING MEASURES

Flash point Not applicable
Autoignition Temperature Not applicable
Flammability Classification Not flammable
LEL Not applicable
UEL Not applicable

Explosion Not applicable. Product will not explode.

Fire Extinguishing Contents of cuvette will not burn. For fires with cuvette and other
Media packaging, use extinguishing media suitable for Class A and Class
B fires. Do not allow water or other extinguishing runoff to enter
sewers or waterways.

Special In the event of a fire, wear full protective clothing and NIOSH-
Information approved self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) with a full
face piece operated in the pressure demand or other positive
pressure mode.

Hazardous Contents of cuvette will not burn. Cuvette and packaging
Decomposition materials may release carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide,
Products hydrocarbons and some styrene during thermal decomposition at
temperature in excess of 260 Celsius.

SECTION 6 - ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES

For releases involving the contents of a small number of product containers, clean-up
with slightly moist absorbent pad, paper towel, or equivalent. Wear nitrile or neoprene
gloves during clean-up. Lightweight gloves are sufficient. Goggles should be worn
when the potential for forming aerosol exists. Do not allow the material to enter a floor
drain, sink, sewer, or storm drain. Place waste in an approved chemical waste container.

For releases involving larger quantities of the contents of the product containers, for
example a damaged pallet of product, use slightly moistened absorbent pads or rags to
clean-up released material. Wear heavy nitrile or neoprene gloves and goggles during
clean-up. Where foot or other body contact with product may occur, wear boots and an
apron or coverall made of nitrile or neoprene. Do not allow the material to enter a floor
drain, sink, sewer, or storm drain. Place waste in an approved chemical waste container.

Personal Protective Equipment
Eye/Face If product may be aerosolized, wear goggles and a face shield.
Protection
Skin Protection During use and with used product, the product should be handled
as a potential biohazard. Due to this, users should wear gloves
during use. Where large amounts of the contents of the product
must be handled (e.g. during a large clean-up of released material),
don nitrile or neoprene aprons or coveralls and boots. In addition,
use heavy duty gloves made of nitrile or neoprene.
Respiratory Respiratory protection is not necessary during the
Protection intended use of this product.

exposures to the product are unlikely with intended use.

The product contains a small amount (<0.002 percent) of Thimerosal, an organic mercury
compound. Prolonged or repeated dermal exposure to and inhalation and/or ingestion of
the product may result in mercury uptake. Exposure to mercury can result in central
nervous system damage, kidney damage, and mutagenic effects. Skin absorption of high
concentrations of mercury can be fatal.

SECTION 12 - ECOLOGICAL INFORMATION

Ecological testing has not been reported for this product. The contents of the cuvette will
generally mix with water and remain on solid surfaces following release.

Used material should be considered a biohazard.

SECTION 13 - DISPOSAL CONSIDERATIONS

General:

Released contents of the product should be recovered and may need to be handled as
hazardous waste depending on quantity released (the product contains a trace amount of
organic mercury). Typical releases will most likely be quite small (10 microliters or
less). Used product should be considered a biohazard. Dispose of container and unused
contents in accordance with applicable federal, state and local regulations. Individual
