Section 03 - Hazard Identification

Inhalation...................鈥︹?︹?︹??.鈥?. Irriating to nose, throat, and respiratory system. Material is extremely
destructive to tissue of the mucous membranes and upper respiratory tract,
eyes and skin. Inhalation may result in spasm, inflammation and edema of
the larynx and bronchi, chemical pneumonitis and pulmonary oedema.
Symptoms of exposure may include burning sensation, coughing,
wheezing, laryngitis, shortness of breath, headache, nausea and vomiting.

Skin Contact / Absorption鈥︹??.鈥? Symptoms of exposure to inorganic fluorides may include salivation,
nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, fever and laboured breathing. Chronic
fluorine poisoning can result in sclerosis of the bones. Calcification of
ligaments, loss of weight, anorexia, anaemia, dental effects. Ingestion of
large doses can cause severe diarrhea, and cramp-like pains.

Eye Contact................鈥︹?︹?︹??.鈥?... Contact may cause ulceration and severe eye damage.

Ingestion.....................鈥︹?︹?︹?︹?︹?? Symptoms may be delayed up to 24 hours depending upon the fluoride ion
concentration. Prevention of absorption of the fluoride ion in cases of
ingestion can be obtained by giving milk, chewable calcium carbonate
tablets or milk of magnesia to conscious victims. Conditions such as
hypocalcaemia, Hypomagnesaemia and cardiac arrhythmias should be
monitored for, since they can occur after exposure.

Exposure Limits鈥︹?︹?︹?︹?︹?︹?︹??.. ACGIH-TLV: 2.5mg/m3 (as F)
OSHA-PEL: 2.5mg/m3 (as F)

Section 04 - First Aid Measures

Inhalation....................鈥︹?︹?︹?︹?︹?? Remove victim to fresh air. Give artificial respiration only if breathing has
stopped. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen. Seek immediate medical
attention.

Remove contaminated clothing. Wash affected area with soap and water.
Skin Contact / Absorption鈥︹?︹?︹??
Seek medical attention if irritation occurs or persists

Eye Contact..................鈥︹?︹?︹?︹??.. Flush immediately with water for at least 20 minutes. Forcibly hold eyelids
apart to ensure complete irrigation of eye tissue. Seek immediate medical
attention

Ingestion......................鈥︹?︹?︹?︹?︹?? Do not induce vomiting. Give large amounts of water. Do not give
anything
by mouth to an unconscious or convulsing person. Seek immediate
medical attention.

Additional Information.....鈥︹?︹?︹??. Beware of late onset pulmonary edema for up to 48 hours. Treat severe
burns as per hydrofluoric acid exposure with a calcium gluconate jelly.
