However, during the transport, manipulation, process and handling parts made from this
material, is not expected a direct contact with carbon black because the carbon black is full
encapsulated in a masse of high molecular weight polymer.
This product as shipped is not classified as combustible dust; however, a combustible
concentration of dust may occur if fines are suspended in air. Avoid contact with strong
reducing agents. During the process of these materials, at the temperatures above their
melting point, fumes may be produced , which contain carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide,
trace levels of phenols, alkylphenols, diarylcarbonate and other unidentified organic
compounds that come from possible breakdown of the material. Adequate room and process
equipment ventilation should be provided. Spilled material may present slipping hazard.

POTENTIAL HEALTH EFFECTS

EYES: may cause eye irritation.

SKIN: Prolonged or repeated contact may cause skin irritation. Exposure to molten resin
cause thermal burns.

INGESTION: Not applicable.

INHALATION: Dust and process vapors may irritate the nose, throat and respiratory tract.

SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS OF OVEREXPOSURE

EYES: Irritation or redness.

SKIN: Irritation or redness.

INGESTION: Not applicable.

INHALATION: irritation of the nose, throat and respiratory tract.

ACUTE TOXICITY

MSDS PC 135 - Rev 01.doc

This product contains carbon black which has been identified as a Group B possible
carcinogen by IARC. However, is not expected any risk of direct exposure to carbon black,
during transportation, handling and processing of this material, because the carbon black are
fully encapsulated in a high molecular weight resin.

MUTAGENICITY

Not known.

REPRODUCTIVE TOXICITY

REPRODUCTIVE EFFECTS: None known

TERATOGENIC EFFECTS: None known

MEDICAL CONDITIONS AGGRAVATED: Pre exiting lung disease may be aggravated
with exposure to dust and process vapors.

ROUTE OF ENTRY: Skin, eye, and inhalation.

TARGET ORGAN STATEMENT: None known.

IRRITANCY: May cause skin, eye and respiratory tract irritation.

SENSITIZATION: None known.

WARNING CAUTION LABELS: Burn risk 鈥? Avoid contact with molten resin.
Explosion risk 鈥? Prevent accumulation of dust particles.
Slipping risk 鈥? Keep walking surface free of spilled material.
Vapor risk 鈥? Provide ventilation to avoid exposure to process vapors.

HEALTH HAZARDS: None known.

PHYSICAL HAZARDS: Spilled material may present slipping hazard. Exposure to molten
resin may cause thermal burns.

4. FIRST AID MEASURES

EYES: Flush eyes with water for 15 minutes. Get medical attention.

SKIN: Wash with soap and water. Get medical attention if irritation develops or persists. If
molten resin comes in contact with skin, cool under ice water or running stream of water.
DO NOT attempt to remove the material from the skin. Removal could result in severe
tissue damage. Get medical attention.

INGESTION: If pellets are ingested get medical assistance.

INHALATION: Get out to fresh air. If breathing is difficult give oxygen .Get medical
attention.

ANTIDOTES: Not applicable.

NOTES TO THE PHYSICIAN: None.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATIONS: None.

5. FIRE FIGHTING MEASURES

FLASH POINT AND METHOD: 630掳C (1166掳F), estimated

FLAMMABLE LIMITS: Not yet determined.

AUTO IGNITION TEMPERATURE: N/A. requires a continuous flame source to ignite.

EXTINGUISHING MEDIA: Use foam, carbon dioxide, or water spray.

EXPLOSION HAZARDS: Product as shipped is not defined as combustible dust. However,
a combustible concentration of dust may occur when fines are suspended in air.

FIRE FIGHTING PROCEDURES: Standard procedures for Class A fires.

FIRE FIGHTING EQUIPMENT: As in any fire, wear self 鈥? contained pressure demand
breathing apparatus, (MSHA/NIOSH approved or equivalent) and full protective gear).

6. ACCIDENDAL RELEASE MEASURES
SPILL: Vacuum or sweep up material and place in a disposal container.

ENVIROMENTAL PRECAUTIONS:
WATER SPILL: Keep pellets out of water ways.
LAND SPILL: Not yet determined.
AIR SPILL: Not yet determined.

RELEASE NOTE: None.

SPECIAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT: None.

7. HANDLING AND STORAGE
GENERAL PROCEDURES: Keep away from heat, sparks, sun radiation and flame.

HANDLING: Ground and bond containers when transferring material.

STORAGE: This product should not be stored near strong reducing agents like strong
bases, hydroxide containers and amine. Store the boxes or bags of material in areas
protected with automated sprinklers.

STORAGE TEMPERATURES: maximum 60掳C (140掳F).

SHELF LIFE: Not yet determined.

GENERAL INFORMATIONS

POLYCARBONATE RESIN:
SKIN: Product not considered primary skin irritant
Draize Skin Primary Irritation Score (rabbit) for similar products, in finely divided form, for 24
hours exposure is 0.not expected to be a skin sensitizer based on results of Modified Buehler
Guinea pig Sensitization Test from similar products. Dermal LD50 (rabbit) > 2g/kg, estimated.
ACUTE ORAL: Oral LD50 (rat) > 5g/kg, estimated.
ACUTE INHALATION: Processing fumes from similar products are not considered toxic. In
acute inhalation tests, laboratory rats were exposed to processing fumes at concentrations
exaggerating those that would likely occur in workplace situations. No deaths or signs of
toxicity, except transient irritancy in some cases, were noted during 6 hours fume exposure tests.
There were no distinct or consistent treatment related tissue or organ changes noted in gross
necropsies.
SUBCHRONIC: In subchronic testing, the base resin was considered physiologically inert when
fed to rats for 8 weeks at a dietary level of 6%.
