Insecticidal Pour-on

Safety
PORIDON is non-systemic; therefore, it will not
enter the animal’s blood stream. Safe for use on
pregnant mares and foals.

Coverage
The active ingredients are slowly drawn out of
the plastic micro particles and onto the hair. An
oily substance naturally present on the hair, called
sebum, mixes with the active ingredient Permethrin
and carries it over the horse’s body. We refer to this
process as insecticidal migration.
Population Control Application
Unlike competitive products that primarily repel PORIDON applies quickly and easily with no waste.

dients. These particles slowly release active ingredi-
ent upon application as well as protect the active
ingredient from sunlight and weather.

Permethrin
The active ingredient is Permethrin, a synthetic
form of Pyrethrin. Permethrin is highly toxic to
insects, but far more stable in sunlight than natu-
ral Pyrethrin. Furthermore, Pyrethrin breaks down
within hours; Permethrin lasts for days and days.
