Section IV - Health Hazard Data
Includes aggravated medical conditions, if established.
Effects of Overexposure: Moderate eye irritation. Moderate skin irritation. Respiratory irritation,
dizziness, nausea, loss of consciousness. Prolonged repeated skin contact with low viscosity
materials may defat the skin resulting in possible irritation and dermatitis.
Section V - Emergency and First Aid Procedures
For Primary Routes of Entry
Eye Contact: Flush thoroughly with water for at least 15 mimtues. Get medical assistance.
Skin Contact: Wash contact areas with soap and water. Launder contaminated clothing before reuse.
Inhalation: Remove from further exposure. If unconsciousness occurs, seek immediate medical
assistance and call a physician. If breathing has stopped, use mouth-to-mouth resuscitation.
Ingestion: Do not induce vomiting. (Note to physician: Material if aspirated into the lungs may cause
chemical pneumonitis. Treat appropriately.) Administer vegetable oil. Get medical assistance.
Section VI - Fire and Explosion Hazard Data
Flash Point F (C): >125(52) (ASTM D-56)
Flammable Limits: LEL: NE UEL: NE
Extinguishing Media: Carbon dioxide, foam, dry chemical and water fog.
Special Fire Fighting Procedures: Use water to keep fire exposed containers cool. If a leak or spill
has not ignited, use water spray to disperse the vapors and to protect men attempting to stop
leak. Water spray may be used to flush spills away from exposures. For fires in enclosed
areas, firefighters must use self-contained breathing apparatus. Prevent runoff from fire
control or diluation from entering streams or drinking water supply.
Unusual Fire and Explosion Hazards: Material is combustible.
NFPA Hazard ID: Health: 0; Flammability: 2, Reactivity: 0
Section VII - Reactivity Data
Stability (Thermal, Light, etc.): Stable
Conditions to Avoid: Heat, sparks, flame and build up of static electricity.
Incompatibility (Materials to Avoid): Strong oxidizers.
Hazardous Decomposition products: Carbon monoxide.
Hazardous Polymerization: Will not occur.
Section VIII - Spill or Leak Procedure
Environmental Impact: Report spills as required to appropriate authorities. U. S. Coast Guard
regulations require immediate reporting of spills that could reach any waterway including
intermittent dry creeks. Report spill to Coast Guard toll free number (800) 424-8802. In case
of accident or road spill notify CHEMTREC (800) 424-9300.

Procedures if Material is Released or Spilled: Absorb on fire retardant treated sawdust,
diatomaceous earth, etc. Shovel up and dispose at an appropriate waste disposal facility in
accordance with current applicable laws and regulations.
Waste Management: The product is suitable for processing by an approved recycling facility or can
be disposed of at any government approved waste disposal facility. Use of these methods is
subject to user compliance with applicable laws and regulations and consideration of product
characteristics at time of disposal.
Section IX - Special Protection Information
Eye Protection: Chemical type goggles should be worn.
Skin Protection: Impervious gloves should be worn.
Respiratory Protection: Approved respiratory protective equipment must be used in high vapor or
mist concentrations.
Ventilation: Use in well ventilated area. Ventilation desirable and equipment should be explosion proof.
Section X - Special Precautions
Handling: Avoid contact with eyes. Avoid contact with skin.
Storage: This product has a limited shelf life. Store in a cool area.
Materials Must be Labeled as: Combustible. See Appendix for Precautionary Label: FL-158.
Section XI - Toxicological Data
Acute Toxicology
Oral Toxicity (Rats): Slightly toxic (estimated). Based on testing of similar products and/or the
components.
Dermal Toxicity (Rabbits): Slightly toxic (estimated). Based on testing of similar products and/or the
components.
Inhalation Toxicity (Rats): Not established.
Eye Irritation (Rabbits): May cause moderate irritation. Based on testing of similar products and/or
the components.
Skin Irritation (Rabbits): May cause moderate irritation on prolonged or repeated contact. Based on
testing of similar products and/or the components.
Chronic Toxicology (Summary)
Contains straight run middle distillates. Certain straight run middle distillates have been found to
produce skin tumors in laboratory mouse skin-painting tests, but these have usually been
associated with a high level of skin irritation. The relevance of this data to humans is not
known since any irritation would normally result in immediate removal and would discourage
further contact, particularly of any duration.
