**** SECTION 3 - HAZARDS IDENTIFICATION ****

EMERGENCY OVERVIEW
Contact with water liberates extremely flammable
gases.Water-reactive.Corrosive.

Potential Health Effects
Eye:
Causes eye irritation and possible burns.
Skin:
Contact with skin causes irritation and possible burns, especially
if the skin is wet or moist.
Ingestion:
Causes digestive tract irritation with possible burns.
Inhalation:
May cause systemic effects. Causes severe respiratory tract
irritation with possible burns.
Chronic:

**** SECTION 4 - FIRST AID MEASURES ****

Eyes:
Flush eyes with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes,
occasionally lifting the upper and lower eyelids. Get medical aid
immediately.
Skin:
Flush skin with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes while
removing contaminated clothing and shoes. Get medical aid if
irritation develops or persists. Wash clothing before reuse.
Ingestion:
Do not induce vomiting. If victim is conscious and alert, give 2-4
cupfuls of milk or water. Never give anything by mouth to an
unconscious person. Get medical aid.
Inhalation:
Remove from exposure and move to fresh air immediately. If not
breathing, give artificial respiration. If breathing is difficult,
give oxygen. Get medical aid if cough or other symptoms appear.

**** SECTION 5 - FIRE FIGHTING MEASURES ****

General Information:
As in any fire, wear a self-contained breathing apparatus in
pressure-demand, MSHA/NIOSH (approved or equivalent), and full
protective gear. Will react with water to form toxic and corrosive
fumes. Reacts with water to form explosive hydrogen gas. May ignite
on contact with water or moist air.
Extinguishing Media:
Use dry sand or earth to smother fire. Do NOT get water inside
containers. DO NOT USE WATER OR FOAM. For small fires, use dry
chemical, soda ash, lime or sand. For large fires, use dry sand, dry
chemical, soda ash or lime or withdraw from area and let fire burn.

**** SECTION 6 - ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES ****

General Information: Use proper personal protective equipment as indicated
in Section 8.
Spills/Leaks:
Vacuum or sweep up material and place into a suitable disposal
container. Use water spray to disperse the gas/vapor. Remove all
sources of ignition. Provide ventilation. Do not expose spill to
water.

Handling:
Wash thoroughly after handling. Use with adequate ventilation. Avoid
breathing dust, vapor, mist, or gas. Avoid contact with skin and
eyes. Avoid ingestion and inhalation.

Store in a cool, dry place. Store in a tightly closed container.
Keep away from water. Corrosives area. Store totally immersed in oil.
