05. OCCUPATIONAL EXPOSURE LIMITS
SUBSTANCE SOURCE TYPE VALUE

No specific occupational exposure standards have been established for this
material. However, airborne concentrations should be kept at least within the
following limits:

Particulates, OSHA PEL-TWA 15 mg/m3 (Total dust)

FIRE AND EXPLOSION HAZARDS
As with other organic powders, when mixed with air and exposed to ignition
source, sufficient dust may exist to burn in open or explode if confined. Use
good housekeeping practices to avoid rendering dust airborne. Flammable
vapors may also be generated from over heating/melting/decomposition. Vapors
may cause fire/explosion if source of ignition is present.

Use water spray or water fog for cooling containers

SPECIAL FIREFIGHTING PROCEDURES
Do not enter fire area without proper protection. See section on decompo-
sition products possible. Fight fire from safe distance/protected location.
Apply extinguishing media carefully/avoid raising powdered materials into
airborne dust, creating an explosion hazard. Use water spray/fog for cooling
containers. Avoid contact with molten product to prevent serious burns.
Notify authorities if material enters sewer/public waters.

07. HEALTH HAZARDS
ROUTES OF EXPOSURE

INHALATION -- PRIMARY ROUTE
Overexposure may cause irritation to the respiratory tract and to other
mucous membranes.
May be highly toxic as a respirable dust. Overexposure may cause coughing,
shortness of breath, dizziness, intoxication and collapse.Larger, less
respirable particles may be less toxic according to one reference.

EYE CONTACT -- PRIMARY ROUTE
May cause severe eye irritation. Symptoms may include severe pain or
burning sensation, tearing, redness or swelling.
In extreme cases, clouding of the eye and corneal opacity may occur. Effects
may be irreversible.

SKIN ABSORPTION
No appropriate human or animal health effects data are known to exist.

SKIN IRRITATION -- PRIMARY ROUTE
Although no appropriate human or animal health effects data are known to
exist, this material is expected to be a skin irritant.
Symptoms may include localized redness or rash, itching, burning and swelling
of the affected area.
Although no appropriate human or animal health effects data is known to
exist, this material may cause an allergic skin reaction (sensitization) in
susceptible individuals upon repeated exposure.

INGESTION
Although no appropriate human or animal health effects data are known to
exist, this material is expected to be a slight ingestion hazard.
Lethargy, diarrhea and other symptoms may occur with ingestion of large doses
of this material.

MEDICAL CONDITIONS AGGRAVATED BY EXPOSURE
No additional medical information found.

RESPIRATORY PROTECTION
If this material is handled in other than a closed system, NIOSH/MSHA
approved supplied air respirator operated in a positive pressure mode is
recommended.

EYE PROTECTION
Eye protection, including both chemical splash goggles and face shield, must
be worn when possibility exists for eye contact due to spraying liquid or
airborne particles. Contact lenses must not be worn.

SKIN PROTECTION
When skin contact is possible, protective clothing including gloves, apron,
sleeves, boots, head and face protection should be worn. This equipment must
be cleaned thoroughly after each use.

ENGINEERING CONTROLS
Both local exhaust and general room ventilation are usually required.
Electrical systems should conform to the National Electric Code.

OTHER HYGIENIC PRACTICES
Emergency eye wash fountains and safety showers should be available in the
immediate vicinity of any potential exposure.

OTHER WORK PRACTICES
Use good personal hygiene practices. Wash hands before eating, drinking,
smoking, or using toilet facilities. Promptly remove soiled clothing/wash
thoroughly before reuse. Shower after work using plenty of soap and water.

09. EMERGENCY AND FIRST AID
INHALATION
If overcome by exposure, remove victim to fresh air immediately. Give oxygen
or artificial respiration as needed. Obtain emergency medical attention.
Prompt action is essential.

EYE CONTACT
In case of eye contact, immediately rinse with clean water for 20-30
minutes. Retract eyelids often. Obtain emergency medical attention.

SKIN CONTACT
Immediately remove contaminated clothing. Wash skin thoroughly with mild
soap/water. Flush w/lukewarm water for 15 minutes. If sticky, use waterless
cleaner first. Seek medical attention if ill effect or irritation develops.

INGESTION
If large quantity swallowed, give lukewarm water (pint) if victim completely
conscious/alert. Do not induce vomiting/risk of damage to lungs exceeds
poisoning risk. Obtain emergency medical attention.

EMERGENCY MEDICAL TREATMENT PROCEDURES
Treat symptomatically.

10. SPILL AND DISPOSAL
PRECAUTIONS IF MATERIAL IS SPILLED OR RELEASED
Spilled or released material poses a dust explosion hazard if it becomes
airborne in the presence of an ignition source. Extinguish all ignition
sources. Use protective equipment during cleanup. Avoid rendering dust
airborne. On land, soak up spilled material with wet/oily absorbent/rags then
flush spill area with detergent and water. On water, contain/minimize
dispersion/collect. May contaminate water supplies. Report per regulatory
requirements.

WASTE DISPOSAL METHODS
When discarded in its purchased form, this product is not a RCRA hazardous
waste. However, it is the responsibility of the generator to determine at
the time of disposal whether the product meets the criteria of a hazardous
waste. Comply with all applicable federal, state and local regulations.
Waste disposal options include landfilling solids at permitted sites. Use
registered transporters.

11. ADDITIONAL PRECAUTIONS
HANDLING AND STORAGE PROCEDURES
Store indoors at room temperature in a dry, well ventilated area, away from
direct sources of heat/sparks/open flames and strong oxidizing agents. This
material is not expected to present a dust explosion hazard during normal
transportation, storage and use. However, as with any organic powder, a
sufficient concentration of dust in air, in the presence of an ignition
source, may present a dust explosion hazard. Minimize the potential for dust
explosion by eliminating and controlling ignition sources (bond and ground)
and by using good housekeeping practices during storage, transfer and handling
of this material. Use only non-sparking tools. Electrical equipment should
be grounded and conform to the National Electric Code. In instances where
this material is bulk conveyed, or where processing may result in a dusty
atmosphere, refer to the latest edition of the National Fire Protection
Association (NFPA) 654 publication, "Standard for the Prevention of Fire &
Dust Explosions in the Chemical, Dye, Pharmaceutical, and Plastics Industries"
for complete discussion of dust explosion prevention and control measures.

DECONTAMINATION PROCEDURES
Follow standard plant procedures or supervisor's instructions for
decontamination operations.
