LINPAR庐 1416-V Normal Paraffin
LINPAR庐 1416-V n-paraffin is a high purity; linear saturated paraffin mixture of various molecular weights in the C14-C17
carbon range. It is a clear, water white, low odor, low viscosity liquid.
Applications
Chemical Intermediate: LINPAR庐 1416-V n-paraffin undergoes the various substitution reactions typical of paraffinic
hydrocarbons. Typical examples and applications of these are:
鈥? Chlorination to high level of chorine content for use as flame-retardants, plasticizers and EP additives.
鈥? Oxidation to alcohols.
鈥? Nitration to nitro-alkanes and amines.
鈥? Sulfoxidation or sulfochlorination for surfactant or plasticizer manufacture.
鈥? Raw material for microbiological oxidation or fermentation process.
Solvent: LINPAR庐 1416-V n-paraffin finds direct use as a solvent in many applications and as a lamp fuel.

FDA Regulations
LINPAR铮? 1416-V Normal Paraffin conforms to many of the requirements of the Federal Food and Drug Administration
(FDA) regulations for direct and indirect food-associated applications, and may be used within the conditions and
limitations of the FDA regulations where indicated.
VOC Regulations
鈥? For applications that use EPA method 24 to determine VOC emissions, LINPAR庐 1416-V has 6.45 lbs. VOC/gallon.
鈥? For consumer product applications covered by the California Air Resource Board regulation CCR 94509(a) or the
Federal EPA consumer product regulations 40 CFR 59.203(f) LINPAR铮? 1416-V paraffins are considered LVP-VOC
and are exempt.
Safety and Handling
As with most liquid hydrocarbons, repeated or prolonged contact may cause skin irritation; however, this product presents
no other extraordinary handling hazards. Good operating and housekeeping procedures should ensure personnel safety. In
any event, proper personal equipment should be worn to prevent contact with eyes or prolonged contact with skin.

Storage and Transfer
LINPAR庐 1416-V n-paraffin is not a DOT hazardous material. According to the OSHA Hazard Communications Standard,
OSHA hazard warning labels are required to warn against skin irritation. Storage in carbon steel tanks is suitable.
Conventional lines, pumps, hoses and fittings are satisfactory for use. Some plastic, rubber and/or fiberglass products may
not be suitable for use with this product. Normal precautions against corrosion of equipment from water leaks or
condensation should be taken.
Availability
LINPAR庐 1416-V Normal Paraffin is available in rail cars and tanks trucks from Westlake, Louisiana and in tank trucks
from designated terminal locations throughout the U.S.
