Use extinguishing media appropriate for surrounding fire. Use self-contained breathing apparatus and protective clothing
appropriate for the surrounding fire. Combustion products are carbon oxides (CO, CO2).
Product as sold does not present an explosion hazard. Finely divided dust generated by fabrication operations
such as milling, cutting, grinding, etc., can create an explosion hazard if the airborne dust concentration exceeds
900 grams per cubic meter and it contacts an ignitions source greater than 8 joules (A person standing in a
uniformly dispersed dust cloud of 50 grams per cubic meter will not be able to see his/her outstretched hand.)

6 ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES
Small spill or leak - Not applicable.

Large spill or leak - Not applicable.

7 HANDLING AND STORAGE
Handling Precautions: No specific usage precautions required. Follow normal good hygiene practices. Protect
exposed areas from cuts and abrasions
Storage Requirements: No special storage precautions required.

8 EXPOSURE CONTROLS/PERSONAL PROTECTION
Engineering Controls: No special ventilation requirements for product as sold. Provide adequate ventilation to meet
exposure guideline if fabrication operations generate dust or fumes.
Protective Equipment: Respirators - No specific recommendation made, but respiratory protection must be used if
the general level exceeds the Occupational Exposure Level (OEL).

Protective gloves - Gloves suitable for protection against cuts and abrasions from sharp
edges are recommended.

Eye protection - Wear safety goggles during fabrication operations that produce chips, fines
or dust.

Exposure Guidelines/Other: Ingredient Name Exposure Limits

10 STABILITY AND REACTIVITY
Stability: Wear safety goggles during fabrication operations that produce chips. Wear safety
goggles if the fabrication process produces fines or dust.
Conditions to avoid: Elevated temperatures may cause aluminum to oxidize. Oxidation is a temperature
dependent rate phenomenon.
Materials to avoid (incompatability): None for product as sold. It is known that finely divided aluminum powder (fines or
chips) reacts with:
Water - slowly generates hydrogen and heat.
Strong oxidizers - Reacts violently, liberating consderable heat.
Acids and alkalis - Reacts producing hydrogen gas
But, product as sold is not elemental aluminum powder but aluminum metal/plastic
resin mixture that is not expected to exhibit this reactive behaviors.
Hazardous Decomposition products: No specific hazardous decompositions products are known.
Hazardous Polymerization: Will not polymerize.

11 TOXICOLOGICAL INFORMATION
This product is not expected to be toxic, but no information on the product is available.

12 ECOLOGICAL INFORMATION

Formaldehyde (50-00-0) in trace amounts.

16 OTHER INFORMATION
The OSHA Hazard Communications Standard (29 CFR 1910.1200) requires that chemical manufacturers provide a
Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) to downstream users of hazardous chemicals. The Standard excludes a
hazardous chemical present n a manufactured item to the extent that exposure to the hazard posed by the chemical
can not occur under normal use.

Anodic coatings are non-hazardous since they are composed of aluminum oxide and aluminum sulfate and do not
pose a hazard in the form in which they are present in this product. Colored anodized coatings contain coloring
substances but the quantities of these coloring substances are negligible, and do not require an MSDS for colored
anodized aluminum.

The presence of anodic coatings does not change the potential for dust hazards for the aluminum alloy when the
anodized aluminum is subjected to welding, burning, grinding, cutting, etc.

Some anodizers (but not the manufacturer of this product) use a chromic acid bath to anodize aluminum. This is
typically done for specific types of finishes. The metal used in Wilsonart Metalaminates - Type 408 has not been
subjected to the chromic acid anodizing process

None for products as sold. For dust or chips generated during fabrication operations, eye contact, skin contact, and
inhalation.
