4. First Aid Measures;
Description of necessary In case of poisoning by any exposure route contact the National
first aid measures: Poisons and Hazardous Chemicals Information Centre, PO Box 913,
Dunedin. Phone 0800 764 766, 0800 POISON.
Workplace facilities: Provide washing facilities in the workplace.
Symptoms: Symptoms of intoxication that may arise include: apathetic state,
depressed muscular tone, respiratory disturbance and trembling.
Muscular cramps are also possible in severe cases of poisoning.
Eye: Rinse immediately with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes,
holding eye open.
Skin: Remove any contaminated clothing and wash skin thoroughly with
soap and water.
Inhaled: If inhaled, remove to fresh air and keep at rest. If concerned, seek
medical advice. Deliberate inhalation of any aerosol may be fatal.
Ingestion: If sprayed in mouth give patient milk or water.
Treatment: Apply basic aid and decontamination procedures. Treat symptoms.
5. Fire-Fighting Measures.
Decomposition: In the event of fire, the formation of hydrogen chloride, hydrogen
cyanide, carbon monoxide and nitrogen oxides must be anticipated.
Do not breathe fumes.
Extinguishing media: Water fog
Recommended Protective Fire fighters should wear full protective clothing and self-contained
clothing: breathing apparatus. Do not release contaminated water into the
environment. Keep intact containers cool by spraying with water.

6. Accidental Release Measures.
Personal Precautions: Emergency Procedures:
Avoid contact with spilled material or contaminated surfaces. When
dealing with the spillage do not eat, drink or smoke. Wear suitable
personal protection during removal of spillages. This means wearing
eye protection, chemically resistant gloves, boots and overalls.
Environmental Precautions: Prevent spillage from entering drains, sewers or watercourses. If
contamination of drains, streams, watercourses, etc. is unavoidable,
warn the local water authority.
Procedure for spill: Keep all bystanders away.
Wear goggles, half face-piece respirator with combined dust and
vapour cartridge, full length clothing and PVC gloves.
Contaminated material must be disposed of in accordance with all
local authority requirements.
鈥? For quantities up to 50kg of product bury in a secure
approved landfill site.
鈥? For quantities greater than 50kg seek advice from the
manufacturer (use emergency contact number) before
attempting disposal. Contain in a secure location until
disposal method is established.
Decontaminate the spill area with detergent and water and rinse with
the smallest volume of water practicable.
7. Handling and Storage.
Handling Practices: Do not puncture can, expose to heat or incinerate, even when empty.
Use only in a well-ventilated area. Avoid contact with skin and eyes
and inhalation of spray.
Conditions for Safe Storage Store in a cool, dry, well ventilated place and protect from sunlight.
