OTHER FLAMMABILITY INFORMATION: Violent steam generation or
eruption may occur upon application of direct water stream
to hot liquids. Flammable concentration of vapor can
accumulate at temperatures above 320F. Liquid mist of this
product can burn.
EXTINGUISHING MEDIA: Water fog or fine spray, carbon dioxide,
dry chemical, foam. Do not use direct water stream. May
spread fire. General purpose synthetic foams (including
AFFF type) or protein foams may be used. Alcohol resistant
foams (ATC type) may also function.
FIRE-FIGHTING INSTRUCTIONS: Keep people away. Isolate fire area
and deny unnecessary entry. Burning liquids may be moved by
flushing with water to protect personnel and minimize property
damage. Avoid accumulation of water. Product may be carried
across water surface spreading fire or contacting an ignition
source. Do not use direct water stream. May spread fire.
PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT FOR FIRE FIGHTERS: Wear positive-pressure
self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) and protective fire
fighting clothing (includes fire fighting helmet, coat, pants,
boots, and gloves). If protective equipment is not available
or not used, fight fire from a protected location or safe
distance.
4. REACTIVITY DATA:
STABILITY: (CONDITIONS TO AVOID) Thermally stable at typical
use temperatures.
CONDITIONS TO AVOID: Product can oxidize at elevated
temperatures.

products depend upon temperature, air supply and the presence

include and are not limited to formaldehyde.

5. ENVIRONMENTAL AND DISPOSAL INFORMATION:
ACTION TO TAKE FOR SPILLS: Keep out of sewers, storm drains,
surface waters and soil. For spills soak up with absorbent
material and scoop into container for disposal.
DISPOSAL METHOD: ++DO NOT DUMP INTO ANY SEWERS, ON THE GROUND, OR
INTO ANY BODY OF WATER++. For unused or uncontaminated
material, the preferred management options are to send to a
licensed recycler, reclaimer, or incinerator. The same
management options are recommended for used or contaminated
material, although additional evaluation is required. (see,
for example, 40CFR Part 261, "Identification and Listing of
Hazardous Waste.") Any disposal practice must be in compliance
with federal, state, provincial, and local laws and regulations.
Check with appropriate agencies for your location. For
additional information, see Section 4 (REACTIVITY DATA) and
"REGULATORY INFORMATION".

companies which recycle, reprocess or manage chemicals and

6. HEALTH HAZARD DATA:
EYE: May cause slight transient (temporary) eye irritation.
Corneal injury is unlikely. May cause temporary discomfort
and dryness similar to windburn.
SKIN CONTACT: Essentially nonirritating to skin.
SKIN ABSORPTION: A single prolonged exposure is not likely to
result in the material being absorbed through skin in harmful
amounts. The LD50 for skin absorption in rabbits is greater
than 2000 mg/kg.
INGESTION: Single dose oral toxicity is extremely low. The

oral LD50 for rats is greater than 15,400 mg/kg. No hazards
anticipated from swallowing small amounts incidental to
normal handling operations.
INHALATION: At room temperature, vapors are minimal due to low
vapor pressure. If material is heated or mist is produced,
concentrations may be attained that may be hazardous on
single exposure.
SYSTEMIC (OTHER TARGET ORGAN) EFFECTS: No relevant information
found.
7. FIRST AID:
EYES: Flush eyes with plenty of water.
SKIN: Wash off in flowing water or shower.
INGESTION: No adverse effects anticipated by this route of
exposure incidental to proper industrial handling.
INHALATION: Remove to fresh air if effects occur. Consult a
physician.
NOTE TO PHYSICIAN: No specific antidote. Supportive care.
Treatment based on judgment of the physician in response to
reactions of the patient.
8. HANDLING PRECAUTIONS:
ENGINEERING CONTROLS: Good general ventilation should be
sufficient for most conditions. Local exhaust ventilation
may be necessary for some operations.
EYE PROTECTION: Use safety glasses.
SKIN PROTECTION: No precautions other than clean body-covering
clothing should be needed.
RESPIRATORY PROTECTION: For most conditions, no respiratory
protection should be needed; however, if material is heated
or sprayed, use an approved air-purifying respirator.
