6. ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES

IN CASE OF SPILL OR OTHER RELEASE: (See section 8 for recommended personal protective equipment.)
Dilute small spills cautiously with water. Neutralize residue with alkali such as soda ash, lime or limestone.
Adequate ventilation is required due to release of sulfur dioxide and ammonia gases and when using soda ash or
limestone due to release of carbon dixode gas.

Spills and releases may have to be reported to Federal and/or local authorities. See Section 15 regarding
reporting requirements.

7. HANDLING AND STORAGE

NORMAL HANDLING: (See section 8 for recommended personal protective equipment.)
Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing. Avoid exposure to gases released by the solution.

STORAGE RECOMMENDATIONS:
Store in closed containers and in a cool, well-ventilated area away from acids and oxidizing agents.

8. EXPOSURE CONTROLS/PERSONAL PROTECTION

ENGINEERING CONTROLS:
Sufficient to eliminate mists, and reduce concentration of sulfur dioxide and ammonia to below current permissible
levels. Packaging and unloading areas and open processing equipment should be equipped with mechanical
exhaust systems.

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT

As a minimum, wear impervious apron, long-sleeved shirt and trousers, and
SKIN PROTECTION:
impervious gloves for routine handling and use of product.

As a minimum, wear chemical safety goggles. Do not wear contact lenses.
EYE PROTECTION:

Where required, use a NIOSH-approved respirator for SO2 or NH3 gases or mists,
RESPIRATORY
as applicable. Some exposures may require a NIOSH-approved, self-contained
PROTECTION:
breathing apparatus or supplied-air respirator.

Eyewash and safety shower is recommended.
