IMPORTANT DATA
Physical State; Appearance Routes of exposure
WHITE CRYSTALS. The substance can be absorbed into the body by inhalation,
through the skin and by ingestion.
Chemical dangers
Inhalation risk
The substance decomposes on heating producing toxic fumes
and irritating fumes including nitrogen oxides. Evaporation at 20/C is negligible; a harmful concentration of
airborne particles can, however, be reached quickly on spraying
or when dispersed, especially if powdered.
Occupational exposure limits
TLV not established.
Effects of short-term exposure
The substance may cause effects on the nervous system,
resulting in convulsions, respiratory failure. Cholinesterase
inhibitor. Exposure may result in death. The effects may be
delayed. Medical observation is indicated.
Effects of long-term or repeated exposure
The substance may have effects on the nervous system, liver.

ENVIRONMENTAL DATA
This substance may be hazardous to the environment; special attention should be given to mammals, birds, honey bees, water
organisms.
NOTES
Depending on the degree of exposure, periodic medical examination is suggested.
Specific treatment is necessary in case of poisoning with this substance; the appropriate means with instructions must be available.
Carrier solvents used in commercial formulations may change physical and toxicological properties.
Do NOT take working clothes home.
Bayer 44646, Metacil, Matacil, Mitacil are trade names.
If the substance is formulated with solvents also consult the ICSCs of these materials.
Card has been partly updated in April 2005. See sections Occupational Exposure Limits, EU classification.
