IMPORTANT DATA
Physical State; Appearance Inhalation risk
COLOURLESS LIQUID. No indication can be given about the rate in which a harmful
concentration in the air is reached on evaporation of this
substance at 20掳C.
Physical dangers
The vapour is heavier than air and may travel along the ground;
distant ignition possible. As a result of flow, agitation, etc.,
electrostatic charges can be generated.

Chemical dangers
The substance decomposes on burning producing toxic and
corrosive fumes including hydrogen chloride (see ICSC 0163)
and phosgene (see ICSC 0007). Reacts violently with strong
oxidants and powdered metals causing fire and explosion
hazard.

Occupational exposure limits
TLV not established.

PHYSICAL PROPERTIES
Boiling point: 69掳C Relative vapour density (air = 1): 3.2
Melting point: -131掳C Flash point: -10掳C
Relative density (water = 1): 0.9 Explosive limits, vol% in air: 2.0-8.8
Solubility in water: none
