HEALTH HAZARD INFORMATION

Health Effects

No adverse health effects are expected if the product is handled in accordance with this Safety Data Sheet and
the product label. Symptoms which may arise if the product is mishandled are:
Acute Effects:
Swallowed: No adverse effects expected but large amounts may cause nausea and vomiting.
Eye: May be an eye irritant.
Skin: Contact with skin may cause irritation.
Inhaled: Inhalation of mists or aerosols may produce respiratory irritation.
Chronic Effects: Evidence form animal tests indicate that repeated or long-term exposure could result in effects
on the liver and reproductive system.

Toxicological properties: (for the active ingredient procymidone)

Oral LD50 (male rat): 6800 mg/kg
Dermal LD50 (rat): >2500 mg/kg
Skin: Non irritant (rabbit)
Eyes: Non irritant (rabbit)
Sensitisation: Not a skin sensitiser
Chronic Studies: Studies have shown that repeated high doses produce adverse effects on the liver and testes
causing reproductive toxicity in males. The effect on the testes is considered to be hormonal. The no effect level
is 300 ppm (rat) and 30 ppm (mouse).
ADI (Acceptable daily intake) for humans is 0.05 mg/kg/day.

Hazard Identification: (procymidone) Risk Phrase 61 (Cat.2) 鈥? May cause harm to the unborn child.

First Aid
Swallowed: If swallowed, contact a doctor or Poisons Information Centre (TEL: 131126).
Skin: If skin contact occurs, remove contaminated clothing and wash skin thoroughly.
Eyes: Irrigate eyes immediately with water for 15 minutes. Consult a doctor.
Inhaled: Remove patient to fresh air. Keep patient rested and warm. If symptoms persist consult a
doctor.

Advice to Doctor
Apply basic aid and decontamination procedures. Treat symptomatically.
Antidote: Unknown.

PRECAUTIONS FOR USE

Exposure Standards

Engineering Control
Natural ventilation should be adequate under normal conditions of use. Avoid generating or inhaling mists.

Personal Protective Measures
Avoid contact with eyes and skin. Do not inhale spray mist. Wash hands after use.

SAFE HANDLING INFORMATION

Storage and Transport
Not classified as a dangerous good according to Australian Code for the Transport of Dangerous Goods by Road
and Rail (ADG Code).
Keep out of the reach of children. Store in the closed, original container in a dry, cool, well-ventilated area out
of direct sunlight.

Spills and Disposals

Wear protective equipment to prevent skin and eye irritation. Contain using sand or soil 鈥? prevent run off into
drains and waterways. Collect and seal contaminated material in properly labeled containers for disposal. If
contamination of crops or waterways has occurred advise emergency services or State Department of
Agriculture.

Disposal
Triple or preferably pressure rinse containers before disposal. Add rinsings to spray tank. Do not dispose of
undiluted chemicals on site. If recycling, replace cap and return clean containers to recycler or designated
collection point.
If not recycling, break, crush or puncture and bury empty containers in a local authority landfill. If no landfill is
available, bury the containers below 500mm in a disposal pit specifically marked and set up for this purpose
clear of waterways, desirable vegetation and tree roots. Empty containers and product should not be burnt.

Fire/Explosion Hazards
Not combustible, however following evaporation of aqueous component residual material can burn if ignited.
Fire fighters to wear self contained breathing apparatus if risk of exposure to products of combustion.

Extinguishing Media
Water fog (or if unavailable fine water spray), foam, dry agent (carbon dioxide, dry chemical powder).

Fish toxicity: Toxic to fish and other aquatic life.
Water flea toxicity:
Daphnia magna LC50: 7.2 mg/L (96 hour)
Bluegill Sunfish LC50: 10.3 mg/L (96 hour)
Carp LC50: >10 mg/L (48 hour)

Not toxic to bees.
Procymidone has a low potential for bioaccumulation and has moderate mobility in soil.
