Safety Phrases:   Avoid contact with skin and eyes. In case of contact with eyes, 

rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice. Wear protective 

clothing, gloves and eye­face protection.

4. FIRST AID MEASURES 

Swallowed: 

       If swallowed, DO NOT induce vomiting. Give 3 to 4 glasses of water to drink. 

Seek immediate medical assistance. 

Eye: 

       If material is splashed into eyes, immediately, flush with plenty of water for 15 

       minutes, ensuring eye lids are held open. If irritation persists transport to 

       hospital or doctor. 

Skin: 

       If material is splashed onto the skin, remove any contaminated clothing and 

       wash skin thoroughly with soap and water. If irritation persists transport to 

       hospital or doctor. 



Inhaled: 

       Move victim to fresh air. Apply resuscitation if victim is not breathing. 

First Aid Facilities: 

       Eye wash fountain, safety shower and normal wash room facilities.

5. FIRE­FIGHTING MEASURES 

Extinguishing Media: Use water (mist), foam, dry powder, carbon dioxide. 

Hazardous Decomposition Products: Decomposes on heating emitting oxides of 

carbon. 

Fire Fighting Procedures: Fire fighters to wear Self­contained breathing apparatus 

(SCBA) in confined spaces, in oxygen deficient atmospheres or if exposed to 

products of decomposition. Full protective clothing is also recommended. 



6. ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES 

Material may be slippery when spilt. Walk cautiously. Ventilate area. Wear protective 

equipment to prevent skin and eye contact, as outlined under personal protection in 

this  MSDS.  Bund  area  using  sand  or  soil  ­  to  prevent  run  off  into  drains  and 

waterways.  Use  absorbent  (soil,  sand,  vermiculite  or  other  inert  material).  Collect 

and  seal  in  properly  labelled  containers  for  disposal  in  accordance  with  local 

regulations. 



7. HANDLING AND STORAGE 

Store in a cool place and out of direct sunlight. Store away from sources of heat or 

ignition. Store away from oxidizing agents. Keep containers closed, when not using 

the product. Store in original packages as approved by manufacturer. 

Handling: Use personal protection and maintain personal hygiene as per section 8.

Ventilation: Ensure adequate ventilation when using this material. Keep containers 

closed when not in use. 

Personal protective clothing: Use gloves and eye/face protection when using this

clothing after each work period. Wash hands and face thoroughly when leaving work 

area of before ingestion of food and drink; and before smoking or using the toilet.

ACUTE HEALTH EFFECTS 

Swallowed:  May cause irritation to mouth, throat and stomach which may lead to 

pains in the stomach, nausea, vomiting and diarrhoea. 

Eye:  Irritating to the eyes, with effects including tearing, pain, stinging and blurred 

vision. 

Skin:  May cause irritation to the skin, with effects including redness and itchiness. 

Inhaled:  Mists from the product may cause irritation to the nose, throat and 

respiratory system with effects including: Cough, discomfort, difficulty breathing and 

shortness of breath. 

Chronic:  Prolonged skin contact may cause dermatitis.

Avoid contaminating waterways, drains and sewers.

Container  Disposal:  Do  not  re­use  containers  for  any  purpose.  Wash  out  with 

large  quantities  of  water  (preferably  adding  to  spray  tank  for  use)  and  dispose  of 

container in accordance with local regulations. 

Spills:  Collect  spilled  material  on  chemical  absorbent  and  dispose  of  spilled 

material  and  waste  in  sealable  open­top  type  containers  for  disposal  according  to 

local regulations. Prevent from entering drains, waterways or sewers.
