**** SECTION 3 - HAZARDS IDENTIFICATION ****

EMERGENCY OVERVIEW
Causes burns. Irritating to respiratory
system.Corrosive.Water-reactive.

Potential Health Effects
Eye:
Causes severe eye irritation and burns.
Skin:
Causes severe skin irritation and burns. Causes redness and pain.
Ingestion:
Harmful if swallowed. Causes gastrointestinal irritation with
nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. Causes digestive tract burns with
immediate pain, swelling of the throat, convulsions, and possible
coma.
Inhalation:
May be fatal if inhaled. May cause severe irritation of the
respiratory tract with sore throat, coughing, shortness of breath
and delayed lung edema. May cause severe irritation of the upper
respiratory tract with pain, burns, and inflammation. Vapors may
cause dizziness or suffocation. May cause nausea, dizziness, and
headache. Exposure may produce pulmonary edema which may progress to
pneumonia, and cardiac failure may intervene.
Chronic:
May cause liver and kidney damage. Chronic exposure can lead to
necrosis of the jaw, or 'phossy-jaw'.

**** SECTION 4 - FIRST AID MEASURES ****

Eyes:
Get medical aid immediately. Do NOT allow victim to rub eyes or keep
eyes closed. Extensive irrigation with water is required (at least 30
minutes).
Skin:
Get medical aid immediately. Immediately flush skin with plenty of
water for at least 15 minutes while removing contaminated clothing
and shoes. Wash clothing before reuse. Remove all contaminated
clothing immediately.
Ingestion:
If victim is conscious and alert, give 2-4 cupfuls of milk or water.
Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Get medical
aid immediately. Do NOT induce vomiting. If conscious and alert,
rinse mouth and drink 2-4 cupfuls of milk or water. Call a poison
control center.
Inhalation:
Get medical aid immediately. Remove from exposure and move to fresh
air immediately. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen. Do NOT use
mouth-to-mouth resuscitation.
Notes to Physician:

**** SECTION 5 - FIRE FIGHTING MEASURES ****

General Information:
Evacuate area and fight fire from a safe distance. As in any fire,
wear a self-contained breathing apparatus in pressure-demand,
MSHA/NIOSH (approved or equivalent), and full protective gear. During
a fire, irritating and highly toxic gases may be generated by thermal
decomposition or combustion. Water Reactive. Material will react with
water and may release a flammable and/or toxic gas. Substance is
noncombustible. Contact with water can cause violent liberation of
heat and splattering of the material. Water Reactive.
Extinguishing Media:
DO NOT USE WATER! Use dry chemical or carbon dioxide.

**** SECTION 6 - ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES ****

General Information: Use proper personal protective equipment as indicated
in Section 8.
Spills/Leaks:
Avoid runoff into storm sewers and ditches which lead to waterways.
Sweep up or absorb material, then place into a suitable clean, dry,
closed container for disposal. Provide ventilation.

**** SECTION 7 - HANDLING and STORAGE ****

Handling:
Wash thoroughly after handling. Wash hands before eating. Remove
contaminated clothing and wash before reuse. Use only in a
well-ventilated area. Follow all MSDS and label precautions even
after container is emptied because they may contain product residues.
Do not get in eyes, on skin, or on clothing. Keep container tightly
closed. Do not ingest or inhale. Do not allow contact with water.
Storage:
Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area away from incompatible
substances. Corrosives area. Store in a suitable container in a dry
area above the substance's freezing point. Keep containers tightly
closed.

**** SECTION 8 - EXPOSURE CONTROLS, PERSONAL PROTECTION ****

Engineering Controls:
Use adequate general or local exhaust ventilation to keep airborne
concentrations below the permissible exposure limits.
Exposure Limits
