Section 02 - Composition information on hazardous ingredients
Hazardous ingredients:
Component CAS-no. (Trade secret Concentration
no.)
Aminoethylethanolamine 111-41-1 > 99.5 %

Section 03 - Hazards identification
Expected Route of entry:
Inhalation: yes
Skin contact: yes
Eye contact: yes
Ingestion: yes
Skin absorption: no
Health effects of exposure:
Aminoethylethanolamine ( 111-41-1 )
Aminoethylethanolamine: LD50 (guinea pigs)(skin absorption) - 1800 mg/kg. May cause pain
and severe eye irritation and may result in permanent impairment of vision, even blindness.
Prolonged skin exposure may cause severe response if confined to skin. May cause allergic
skin reaction in susceptible individuals. A single prolonged exposure is not likely to result in skin
absorption in harmful amounts. Single dose oral toxicity is low. Amounts ingested incidential to
industrial handling are not likely to cause injury; however, ingestion of larger amounts may
cause injury. At room temperature, exposure to vapors is unlikely due to physical properties;
higher temperatures may generate vapor levels sufficient to cause irritation. If vapors are
present, may cause respiratory sensitization or asthma in susceptible individuals. Effects of
repeated overexposure in animals have been reported on the following organs: gastrointestinal

tract and kidney. Aminoethylethanolamine has caused birth defects in laboratory animals.
Results of the in-vitro mutagenicity tests have been negative.

Known effects on other illnesses: Inhalation may aggravate asthma and inflammatory
or fibrotic pulmonary disease. Because of its
irritating properties, this material may aggravate an
existing dermatitis.

Section 04 - First aid measures
After inhalation:
Get victim to fresh air. Give artificial respiration or oxygen if breathing has stopped. Get prompt
medical attention. Do not give fluids if victim is unconscious.
After contact with skin:
Immediately flush skin with soap and water. Remove contaminated clothing and shoes. wash
clothing before reuse. Contact a physician.
After contact with eyes:
Immediately flush eyes with large amounts of water for at least 15 minutes, holding lids apart to
ensure flushing of the entire surface. Washing eyes within 1 minute is essential to achieve
maximum effectiveness. Seek medical attention immediately.
After ingestion:
Get immediate medical help.
Advice to doctor / Treatment:
Treat symptomatically.

Special fire fighting procedure:
Wear positive pressure self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) and full protective
equipment.
Unusual fire and explosion Emits toxic and corrosive fumes under fire conditions.
hazards:

Section 06 - Accidental release measures
Steps to be taken in case of spill or leak:
Wear proper protective equipment. Contain spill. Spills should be collected as a liquid or
absorbed on suitable absorbant and placed in proper containers for disposal. Do not discharge
into storm drains or the aquatic environment.

Advice on safe handling:
Avoid getting on skin or in eyes when handling product.
Further info on storage conditions:
Keep containers closed.

Section 08 - Exposure controls / personal protection
Respiratory protection: If airborne concentrations pose a health hazard, become irritating
or exceed recommended limits, use a NIOSH approved respirator
in accordance with OSHA respiratory protection requirements
under 29 CFR 1910.134
Hand protection: PVC, Nitrile, Or Neoprene.
Eye protection: Chemical splash goggles.
Other protective equipment: Wear the following as necessary to prevent skin contact;
coveralls or work pants and long sleeve work shirt, impervious
gloves, impervious boots, and impervious apron. Provide
eyewash fountain and safety shower in close proximity to points
of potential exposure.
