Special Fire
Fighting Procedures: Although this product is not combustible, if a fire occurs in the near vicinity, good fire-fighting practice dictates the use of
self-contained breathing apparatus and other protective gear. Use water spray to cool nearby containers and structures
Unusual Fire And exposed to fire.
Explosion Hazards: Extinguish all nearby sources of ignition since flammable hydrogen gas will be liberated from contact with some metals.

V. HEALTH HAZARD DATA
Carcinogenic: The raw materials used in this product are not considered to be a carcinogen by ACGIH and OSHA.
Effects Of
Over-exposure: Liquid or vapors can cause irritation. Can cause irritation to lungs, nose and throat. If swallowed, can cause damage to throat
and stomach.

Emergency And First
Aid Procedures: EYES: Flush eyes for 15 minutes with large amounts of water, lifting upper and lower eyelids occasionally. GET IMMEDIATE MEDICAL
ATTENTION.
SKIN: Immediately flush with cold water for at least 15 minutes while removing contaminated clothing and shoes, paying particular attention to
skin under the nails. Always GET IMMEDIATE MEDICAL ATTENTION no matter how minor skin burns appear. Wash contaminated
clothing before use.
INHALATION: Remove to fresh air. Give artificial respiration if not breathing. GET IMMEDIATE MEDICAL ATTENTION.

VI. REACTIVITY DATA
Stable: X
Stability - Unstable:
Conditions To Avoid: Heat, sparks, and open flames.

Incompatibility: Alkalis, strong concentrated acids, oxidizing (ie. hypochlorites) or reducing materials, cyanides, sulfides, or
(Materials To Avoid) combustible materials.
Hazardous
Decomposition Products: When heated to decomposition, toxic and corrosive fumes of hydrogen fluoride, silica tetrafluoride and hydrogen
gas.

VII. SPILL OR LEAK PROCEDURES
Steps To Be Taken In Wear protective equipment including rubber gloves, rubber boots, and an apron as needed. Always wear eye
Case Material Is protection. For small spills or drips, mop or wipe up and dispose of in DOT--approved waste containers. For large
Released Or Spilled: spills, contain by diking with soil or other non-lime. If soda ash is used, provide adequate ventilation to dissipate
the carbon dioxide gas. Keep non-neutralized material out of sewers, storm drains, surface waters, soil.

Waste Disposal Method: Dispose of in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations.

VIII. SPECIAL PROTECTION INFORMATION
Respiratory
Protection: Respiratory protection is not required for normal use. If use conditions generate vapors or mists, wear a
NIOSH-approved respirator appropriate for those emission levels. Appropriate respirators may be a >20 mg/m3,
approved acid respirator or >200ppm, full face mask.
Ventilation: Local mechanical exhaust ventilation capable of maintaining emissions at the point of use below the PEL.

Protective Gloves: Acid resistant gloves.
Eye Protection: Chemical goggles. If contact with large amounts is possible a full faceshield should also be worn, unless a full
facepiece respirator is also worn. It is generally recognized that contact lenses should not be worn when working
with chemicals because contact lenses may contribute to the severity of an eye injury.
Protective Clothing: In situations where contact can be anticipated, protective clothing should be worn.

IX. SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS
Precautions To Be Taken
In Handling And Storing: Store in a cool, dry, well ventilated place. Store away from all other chemicals and potential sources of
contamination. Keep container tightly closed when not in use. Do not use pressure to empty container. Wash
thoroughly after handling. Do not get in eyes, on skin, or on clothing. Do not cut, grind, weld, or drill on or near
this container. Containers, even those that have been emptied, will retain product residue and vapors. Always
obey hazard warnings and handle empty containers as if they were full. Prohibit smoking, flames, and sparks near
acid storage area. Store in plastic container away from heat.
Other Precautions: Safety showers and eyewash stations should be provided in the areas where this product is handled.
