DOGGONE Wild Dog Bait
This product is a wild dog bait that consists of inert ingredients and 0.01% sodium monofluoroacetate.
In the product the active ingredient is diluted and is therefore not classified as a hazardous substance
according to the criteria of WorkSafe Australia, however, pure sodium monofluoroacetate is classified as
hazardous. The wild dog bait is not classified as dangerous goods according to the Australian Code for the
Transport of Dangerous Goods by Road and Rail (version P16).

delineate the location of the poison dose.

HEALTH HAZARD INFORMATION
Health Effects
This product is a poisonous bait for the control of wild dogs. The bait consists of a manufactured meat base
containing less than 0.01% sodium monofluoroacetate (1080). In the bait the active ingredient is stabilised
and diluted within the meat matrix. There is no inhalation risk with the product. Based on the lowest
known lethal dose for humans (0.71 mg/kg bw), an 80 kg person would have to consume approximately 10
baits in succession to receive a lethal dose. Lower doses may still cause toxic effects.
Acute:
Swallowed: Poisonous if swallowed.
Eye: Avoid contact with eyes.
Skin: Avoid contact with skin.
Inhaled: Not applicable to this formulation.
Chronic: None known.
First aid: If poisoning occurs, contact a doctor or Poisons Information Centre.
Swallowed: Give large quantities of water and induce vomiting.
Eye: If in eyes, hold eyes open, flood with water for at least 15 minutes and see a doctor.
Skin: If skin contact occurs, remove contaminated clothing and wash skin thoroughly.
Remove from contaminated area.
Inhaled: Apply artificial respiration if not breathing.
Advice to doctor: The bait contain approximately 0.01% sodium monofluoroacetate. It is important to
ascertain the route of exposure and the quantity of baits exposed to.
PRECAUTIONS FOR USE
Exposure Standards: There is no exposure standard allocated.
Engineering Controls: The product formulation dilutes the concentration of sodium monofluoroacetate.
Personal Protection: When opening the container and preparing the bait wear elbow-length PVC gloves.
If product on skin, immediately wash area with soap and water.
Personal Hygiene: After use and before eating, drinking or smoking, wash hands, arms and face
thoroughly with soap and water. After each day鈥檚 use, wash gloves and
contaminated clothing.
Flammability: The product is not readily flammable.
SAFE HANDLING INFORMATION
Storage and Transport: The product is a schedule S7 poison. The storage of DOGGONE baits is governed
by the various state government Poisons Acts which require that Schedule 7
products be securely stored in part of the premises partitioned off or otherwise
separated from the remainder of the premises, and to which the public is not
permitted to enter. DOGGONE baits should be stored according to the various
state department regulations. This product is not classified as dangerous goods.
Spills and Disposal: Sweep up and place in sealed containers. Incinerate or bury below 0.5 metres.
Fire/Explosion Hazards: The bait is not flammable and will not autoignite.
