Indulon 868 HS Epoxy Mastic Non-Skid SKU: 868000
Activator: 868801
Interior / Exterior 0406
Description
(Not Intended For Residential Use) Indulon 868 HS Epoxy Mastic Non-Skid is a two component, polyamide modified, low VOC, high
performance coating for demanding industrial maintenance, marine and architectural applications. It is a tough and durable satin finish perfect for
use on steel, galvanized, aluminum and masonry. It should be used wherever non-skid properties, chemical and abrasion resistance, resistance to
corrosive environments and outstanding adhesion are essential. Indulon 868 HS Epoxy Mastic Non-Skid is great for use on properly prepared
concrete & steel surfaces in refineries, offshore platforms, chemical plants, food & beverage plants and pulp & paper mills.

Surface Preparation
All surfaces must be thoroughly cleaned to remove dirt, grease, mill scale, loose rust, chalk, and any other contaminants that can reduce adhesion
via SSPC-SP1 solvent cleaning.
METAL: Sandblasting is recommended to remove rust and mill scale. Use commercial blast to SSPC-SP6 for mild exposures and near-white blast
SSPC-SP10 for severe exposures. Where blasting is not possible, thorough scraping and wire brushing may be substituted at some possible
sacrifice in performance.
CONCRETE/MASONRY: Cure for at least 30 days before painting. Remove loose or excess mortar, efflorescence, laitance and concrete form
release compounds that reduce adhesion. Etch or abrasive blast slick or glazed concrete before use on floors.
PREVIOUSLY PAINTED SURFACES: Scrape loose, scaly, peeling paint and sand the edges smooth. If the paint is glossy, sand to dull the
surface. Remove any rust and scale from ferrous metal. If mildew is present, remove completely by sterilizing the surface with mildew remover
and detergent. Rinse well and allow to dry before painting.

Primers
CONCRETE/MASONRY should first be coated to fill the voids with Ready Mixed Block Filler (751100) if a smooth finish is desired.
STEEL: Indurazinc HRZ-18 or FB Zinc Inorganic Zinc Rich Primer, 885 Organic Zinc Rich Primer or Indulon 235, 883, 894 Epoxies.

Mixing & Induction
Thoroughly stir each component. Pour the activator, part B (868801), into the pigmented component, part A (868xxx) (mixing ratio by volume: 1
part activator to 5.25 parts pigmented component), mix well and allow the combined mixture to sit for 15 minutes @ 70-90掳F or 30 minutes @ 55-
70掳F before use. Pot life is 3-4 hrs. Do not mix more than can be applied during the product鈥檚 useful pot life.

Special Information
Do not apply if material, substrate or ambient temperature is below 50掳F. Some yellowing may occur in light colors if exposed to temperatures
exceeding 200掳F. Old coatings should be tested for lifting before applying Indulon 868 HS Epoxy Mastic Non-Skid. Exterior exposure causes
color change, gloss loss and chalking, however, this does not effect protective performance properties.
