EYE EFFECTS:
Contact with cold vapors can cause tissue freezing or frostbite and cryogenic "burns".

SKIN EFFECTS:
Contact with liquid or cold vapors can cause tissue freezing or frostbite and cryogenic "burns".

INGESTION EFFECTS:
Ingestion unlikely. Contact may cause cryogenic 鈥渂urns鈥?.

INHALATION EFFECTS:
Neon is defined as a simple asphyxiant. Oxygen levels should be maintained at greater than 19.5% at normal
atmospheric pressure.

Effect of oxygen deficiency resulting from simple asphyxiants may include: rapid breathing, diminished mental
alertness, impaired muscular coordination, faulty judgement, depression of all sensations, emotional instability,
and fatigue. As asphyxiation progresses, nausea, vomiting, prostration, and loss of consciousness may result,
eventually leading to convulsions, coma, and death.

Oxygen deficiency during pregnancy has produced developmental abnormalities in humans and experimental
animals.

4. First Aid Measures

EYES:
Never introduce oil or ointment into the eyes without medical advice! In case of freezing or cryogenic "burns"
by rapidly evaporating liquid. DO NOT WASH THE EYES WITH HOT OR EVEN TEPID WATER! Remove
victim from the source of contamination. Open eyelids wide to allow liquid to evaporate. If pain is present,
refer the victim to an ophthalmologist for further treatment and follow up. If the victim cannot tolerate light,
protect eyes with a light bandage or handkerchief.

SKIN:
Frostbite effects appear as a change in the color of the skin to gray or white possibly followed by blistering. For
dermal contact or frostbite, remove contaminated clothing and flush affected area with large quantities of warm
water. DO NOT USE HOT WATER OR DRY HEAT. DO NOT RUB. A physician should see the patient
promptly if the cryogenic "burn" has resulted in blistering or in deep tissue freezing.

INGESTION:
Get immediate medical attention.

INHALATION:
PROMPT MEDICAL ATTENTION IS MANDATORY IN ALL CASES OF OVEREXPOSURE. RESCUE
PERSONNEL SHOULD BE EQUIPPED WITH SELF-CONTAINED BREATHING APPARATUS. Quick
removal from the contaminated area is most important. Conscious persons should be assisted to an
uncontaminated area and inhale fresh air. Unconscious persons should be moved to an uncontaminated area,
and given artificial resuscitation and supplemental oxygen if they are not breathing. Further treatment should be
symptomatic and supportive.

EXTINGUISHING MEDIA:
None needed. Use any extinguishing media which is suitable for the surrounding fire.

FIRE FIGHTING INSTRUCTIONS:
None required.

6. Accidental Release Measures
Evacuate call personnel from affected area. Use appropriate protective equipment. If leak is in user鈥檚
equipment, be certain to purge piping with inert gas prior to attempting repairs. If leak is in container or
container valve, contact the appropriate emergency telephone number listed in Section 1 or call your closest
BOC location.

7. Handling and Storage
Electrical Classification:
Nonhazardous

Neon is non-corrosive and may be used with any common structural material.
Neon, refrigerated liquid, is delivered to a customer into stationary, insulated vessels at the customer鈥檚 location.
These stationary vessels may have mechanical refrigeration coils within the vapor space in order to maintain the
pressure in the vessel or the temperature of the liquid in the vessel.

MSDS: G-201
Revised: 6/12/96 Page 3 of 6
PRODUCT NAME: NEON, REFRIGERATED LIQUID

For additional information, consult the Compressed Gas Association (CGA) pamphlets P-1, P-9, P-14 and Safety
Bulletin SB-2.

Use only in well-ventilated areas. Neon refrigerated liquid may be delivered directly to stationary, insulated
vessels at the customer鈥檚 location or may be supplied in portable vacuum-insulated liquid "dewars" requiring
special handling.

Stationary customer site vessels should be operated in accordance with the manufacturer鈥檚 and BOC instructions.
Do not attempt to repair, adjust or in any other way modify the operation of these vessels. If there is a
malfunction or other type of operations problem with the vessel, contact the closest BOC location immediately
for assistance.

DO NOT store the liquid in vessels or devices not designed for vaporizing liquid. Proper pressure relief devices
are essential.

Protect dewars from physical damage. Store in cool, dry, well-ventilated area away from heavily trafficked
areas and emergency exits. DO NOT allow the temperature where dewars are stored to exceed 125oF (52oC).
Dewars should be stored upright and firmly secured to prevent falling or being knocked over. Full and empty
dewars should be segregated. Use a "first in-first out" inventory system to prevent full dewars from being stored
for excessive periods of time.

Valve protection caps must remain in place unless the dewar is secured with valve outlet piping to use point.
Close valve after each use and when the container is empty. Do not drag, slide or roll dewars on their sides.
Use a suitable hand truck for container movement. Use a pressure reducing regulator when connecting container
to piping or systems. Do not use product directly from container. Do not heat dewars by any means to increase
the discharge rate of product from the container.

Never carry a container of a gas in cryogenic liquid in an enclosed space, such as a car trunk, van or station
wagon. A leak can result in a fire, explosion, asphyxiation or a toxic exposure.
