SECTION III 鈥? HAZARDS IDENTIFICATION
General: Limited toxicity data are available on this specific product; this health hazard assessment is based on
the results of screening tests.
Emergency Overview: Appearance: Clear Amber Liquid
MAY CAUSE EYE IRRITATION. MAY CAUSE SLIGHT SKIN IRRITATION. INHALATION OR
INGESTION MAY CAUSE MUCOUS MEMBRANE IRRITATION
Routes of Exposure: Eye Contact; Skin Contact; Inhalation

Symptoms of Overexposure (Acute & Chronic):
Eye Contact: This material may irritate human eyes following contact.
Skin Contact: This material may irritate human skin. Exposure to diethanolamine may cause allergic contact
dermatitis. If allergy develops, very low future exposures can cause itching and a skin rash.
Systemically toxic concentrations of this product will probably not be absorbed through human skin.
Diethanolamine has the potential for possibly harmful skin absorption. Studies have been performed by the National Toxicology
Program (NTP) on skin absorption of diethanolamine in mice and rats. The results of these studies show no evidence of carcinogenicity
in rats of both sexes but clear evidence of carcinogenicity on mice of both sexes. The significance of these findings is unclear and
additional testing is currently underway.
Inhalation: High concentrations of mists or aerosols may irritate respiratory passages. No toxic effects are known
to be associated with inhalation of this material.
Ingestion: In humans, irritation of the mouth, pharynx, esophagus and stomach can develop following ingestion
of this product. No toxic effects are expected following ingestion of this product.
Chronic Effects: Overexposure to diethanolamine may affect the liver, kidneys, and blood. In acute and subacute
feeding studies in rats, 0.09 g/kg. Of diethanolamine caused changes in liver and kidney weights.

SECTION IV - FIRST AID MEASURES
Eyes: Immediately flush with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. If redness, itching, or a burning sensation
develops, have eyes examined and treated by medical personnel.
Skin: Wash material off of the skin with plenty of soap and water. If redness, itching, or a burning sensation
develops, get medical attention.
Ingestion: DO NOT INDUCE VOMITING. Give one or two glasses of water to drink and refer to medical personnel or take
direction from either a physician or a poison control center. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious
person.
Inhalation: Remove victim to fresh air. If a cough or other respiratory symptoms develop, consult medical personnel.
