**** SECTION 3 - HAZARDS IDENTIFICATION ****

EMERGENCY OVERVIEW
Reacts violently with water. Harmful if swallowed. Causes
burns.Hygroscopic (absorbs moisture from the air).

Potential Health Effects
Eye:
Causes eye burns.
Skin:
Causes skin burns.
Ingestion:
May cause severe and permanent damage to the digestive tract. Causes
gastrointestinal tract burns. May be harmful if swallowed.
Inhalation:
May cause severe irritation of the respiratory tract with sore
throat, coughing, shortness of breath and delayed lung edema. Causes
chemical burns to the respiratory tract.

**** SECTION 4 - FIRST AID MEASURES ****

Eyes:
In case of contact, immediately flush eyes with plenty of water for
at least 15 minutes. Get medical aid immediately.
Skin:
In case of contact, immediately flush skin with plenty of water for
at least 15 minutes while removing contaminated clothing and shoes.
Get medical aid immediately. Wash clothing before reuse.
Ingestion:
If swallowed, do NOT induce vomiting. Get medical aid immediately.
If victim is fully conscious, give a cupful of water. Never give
anything by mouth to an unconscious person.
Inhalation:
If inhaled, remove to fresh air. If not breathing, give artificial
respiration. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen. Get medical aid.
Notes to Physician:
Treat symptomatically and supportively.

**** SECTION 5 - FIRE FIGHTING MEASURES ****

General Information:
As in any fire, wear a self-contained breathing apparatus in
pressure-demand, MSHA/NIOSH (approved or equivalent), and full
protective gear. Substance is noncombustible. May ignite or explode
on contact with steam or moist air. Water hydrolyzes material
liberating acidic gas which in contact with metal surfaces can
generate flammable and/or explosive hydrogen gas.
Extinguishing Media:
Use dry sand or earth to smother fire. Use dry chemical, carbon
dioxide, or alcohol-resistant foam. DO NOT USE WATER! Water may
cause violent reaction.

**** SECTION 6 - ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES ****

General Information: Use proper personal protective equipment as indicated
in Section 8.
Spills/Leaks:
Clean up spills immediately, observing precautions in the Protective
Equipment section. Sweep up, then place into a suitable container for
disposal. Avoid generating dusty conditions. Provide ventilation. Do
not expose spill to water.

Handling:
Do not allow water to get into the container because of violent
reaction. Minimize dust generation and accumulation. Do not get in
eyes, on skin, or on clothing. Keep container tightly closed. Do not
ingest or inhale. Use with adequate ventilation. Discard
contaminated shoes. Keep from contact with moist air and steam.
Storage:
Keep container closed when not in use. Store in a cool, dry,
well-ventilated area away from incompatible substances. Keep away
from water.

Engineering Controls:
Facilities storing or utilizing this material should be equipped
with an eyewash facility and a safety shower. Use adequate general or
local exhaust ventilation to keep airborne concentrations below the
