SPECTON - CRACK CLEANING AGENT
DESCRIPTION: Specton Crack Cleaning Agent is an 85 % concentrate of Food Grade Phosphoric
acid. When diluted with clean water to a 5 % solution, Specton Crack Cleaning Agent is designed to
be injected into cracks, joints and rock pockets in concrete structures to remove compacted fines in the
crack due to drilling, calcium deposits and to clean and stabilize rebar. The use of acidization
techniques improves the penetration of resin, adhesion, increases productivity and provides contractors
and their clients with predictable results.

鈥? Safe 鈥? Tested and classified by UL in accordance with Standard ANSI / NSF 60 for contact
with potable water. Specton Crack Cleaning Agent is a Food Grade Phosphoric Acid.
鈥? Multi Purpose 鈥? In addition to cleaning dirt and calcium deposits from the cracked concrete
surfaces to improve penetration and bond, Specton Crack Cleaning Agent cleans rebar and
forms a passive Chelate and Phosphate coating to stabilize the steel.
鈥? Proven Track Record 鈥? Acidization techniques have been successfully used for over 8 years
in North America and are recognized by contractors and engineers as a necessary and effective
procedure for effective resin injection.
鈥? Applicator Friendly 鈥? Specton Crack Cleaning Agent does not require any special equipment
and is easily injected using single component injection equipment.

MIXING and HANDLING:
1) Wear rubber gloves and safety glasses and/or a safety shield when mixing or handling the products.
Familiarize yourself with the MSDS guidelines and information. Mix and install the materials in a
well-ventilated area.
2) Always add Specton鈥檚 Crack Cleaning Agent to the clean water and stir gently. For an approximate
5 % solution, add the contents of the Specton Crack Cleaning Agent (1.8 KG Bottle) to 17 Litres of
clean water.
4) Install or inject the Diluted mixture using a single component pump until the mixture is seen exiting
the crack, joint or rock pocket.
5) After the acid injection is complete, repeat the flushing process by injecting the crack, joint or rock
pocket with copious amounts of clean water.

STORAGE:
鈥? Do not allow Specton Crack Cleaning Agent to freeze or to be stored in temperatures below
0 C (32F).

SAFETY PRECAUTIONS:
Avoid contact with skin or eyes.
Familiarize yourself with the MSDS and follow safety precautions indicated.
Mix and apply the materials in a well ventilated area.
In addition to conventional construction safety equipment, wear rubber gloves and a safety visor.
When possible, PREMIX Specton鈥檚 Crack Cleaning Agent to the desired % (typically 5%) in a
controlled environment away from the site.
