SECTION 3. EMERGENCY/HAZARDS OVERVIEW

Under certain conditions cuprous oxide may react violently with strong reactants such as acids, bases,
and metals such as, but not limited to, Al and Mg. Copper fumes will be released if cuprous oxide is
heated above its melting point (2255掳F). Not D.O.T. Regulated.

SECTION 4. FIRST AID

Eyes: Immediately flush eyes with plenty of water. Call a physician if irritation persists.
Skin: Immediately wash skin with plenty of soap and water while removing contaminated
clothing and shoes. If irritation persists, seek medical attention.
Ingestion: Call a physician or Poison Control Center. Drink 1 or 2 glasses of water or milk and
induce vomiting by touching back of throat with finger or if available by administering
syrup of ipecac. Do not induce vomiting or give anything by mouth to an unconscious
person.
Inhalation: Remove victim to fresh air. If not breathing, give artificial respiration, preferably
mouth-to-mouth. Get medical attention.

Storage: Store original bags in a cool, well-ventilated, dry place. Keep away from
strong alkalies, acids and/or oxidizing agents. Do not reuse bag. Do not
store near food or feeds.
Work/Hygienic Practices: Harmful if swallowed. Avoid contact with eyes, skin and clothing. Avoid
breathing dust. Wash thoroughly with soap and water after handling.
Remove contaminated clothing and wash thoroughly before reuse. Do not
contaminate feed and foodstuffs.
