SECTION 3. EMERGENCY/HAZARDS OVERVIEW

Under certain conditions cuprous oxide may react violently with strong reactants such as acids, bases,
and metals such as, but not limited to, Al and Mg. Copper fumes will be released if cuprous oxide is
heated above its melting point (2255掳F). Not D.O.T. Regulated.

SECTION 4. FIRST AID

Eyes: Hold eyes open and rinse slowly and gently with water for 15-20 minutes. Remove
contact lenses, if present, after the first 5 minutes, then continue rinsing eye. Call a
Poison Control Center or doctor for treatment advice.
Skin: Take off contaminated clothing. Rinse skin immediately with plenty of water for 15-20
minutes. Call a Poison Control Center or doctor for treatment advice.
Ingestion: Call a Poison Control Center or doctor immediately for treatment advice. Have person
sip a glass of water if able to swallow. Do not induce vomiting unless told to do so by a
Poison Control Center or doctor. Do not give anything by mouth to an unconscious
person.
Inhalation: Remove victim to fresh air. If not breathing, give artificial respiration, preferably
mouth-to-mouth. Get medical attention.

SECTION 6. SPILLS AND LEAKS

Containment: Prevent product spillage from entering drinking water supplies or streams.
Clean Up: Wearing protective clothing, use a clean shovel and carefully place material into clean,
dry container and cover; remove from area. Use according to label instructions or
dispose of at an approved waste disposal facility. Flush spill area with water and collect
liquid or absorb onto absorbent material and package for disposal.
Evacuation: Not necessary, but restrict entry.

SECTION 7. STORAGE AND HANDLING

Storage: Store original bags in a cool, well ventilated, dry place. Keep away from
strong alkalies, acids and/or oxidizing agents. Do not reuse bag. Do not
store near food or feeds.
Work/Hygienic Practices: Causes moderate eye irritation. Harmful if swallowed or absorbed through
skin. Avoid contact with eyes, skin and clothing. Avoid breathing dust.
Users should: (1) Wash hands before eating, drinking, chewing gum, using
tobacco or using the toilet; (2) Remove clothing immediately if pesticide gets
inside. Then wash thoroughly and put on clean clothing; (3) Remove PPE
immediately after handling this product. Wash the outside of gloves before
removing. As soon as possible, wash thoroughly and change into clean
clothing. Do not contaminate feed and foodstuffs.

Eyes: Chemical dust/splash goggles, safety glasses or full-face shield may be worn to prevent
eye contact. As a general rule, do not wear contact lenses when handling.
Skin: Chemical-resistant gloves made of any waterproof material and impervious clothes if
skin contact is probable and skin is sensitive.
Respiratory: Not normally needed. If use generates an aerosol mist or respiratory irritation, use
NIOSH-approved dust/mist respirator (such as 3M #8710).

Skin: May cause irritation (redness and/or itching). LD50 > 2000 mg/kg.
Ingestion: May cause nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. LD50 (rat) = 3165 mg/kg.
Inhalation: May cause respiratory irritation. Preexisting lung diseases may be aggravated by
exposure. May result in respiratory disease if overexposed on a chronic basis.
May cause 鈥渕etallic fever鈥? after inhalation of dust in the same way as other metal
