Urinary Acidiﬁer

Indications
For use as a urinary acidiﬁer in cats and dogs.

Dosage
The recommended dose for ammonium chloride is 20
mg/kg of body weight twice daily. The daily dose may
vary with different diets depending on the alkalinity of
the diet. The dosage should be adjusted to maintain
urine pH consistently below 6.6.
For animals smaller than 20 lbs, UriKare 200 is recom-
mended. For animals larger than 40 lbs, UriKare 400 is
recommended.
Tablets may be given whole or crushed.

UriKare 200
Body Weight Dosage
10 lb (4.54 kg) ½ tablet twice daily
Description 20 lb (9.08 kg) 1 tablet twice daily
UriKare is a brand of ammonium chloride in a palatable 30 lb (13.6 kg) 1½ tablets twice daily
protein base. 40 lb (18.2 kg) 2 tablets twice daily
Each tablet contains a minimum: UriKare 400

UriKare 400 ....................... Ammonium chloride 400 mg 20 lb (9.08 kg) ½ tablet twice daily
40 lb (18.2 kg) 1 tablet twice daily
Storage 60 lb (27.2 kg) 1½ tablets twice daily

Warning
May cause gastric mucosal irritation.
Do not administer to animals with sever liver or kidney
damage or to animals exhibiting acidosis.
Do not administer to animals on special petfood diets
designed to acidify the animal’s urine.
