Levothyroxine Sodium Tablets, USP
Dosage and Administration
The initial recommended daily dose is 0.1 mg
per 10 lbs of body weight twice daily. Dosage
is then adjusted according to patient鈥檚 response
by monitoring T4 blood levels every four weeks.
The usual maintenance dose is 0.1 mg per 10 lbs
once daily. Tablets may be administered orally
or placed in food.
Caution
Federal law restricts this drug to use by or on the
order of a licensed veterinarian.
Warning
The effects of levothyroxine sodium therapy are
slow in being manifested. Over dosage of any
thyroid drug may produce the signs and symp-
toms of thyrotoxicosis including but not limited
to polydipsia, polyuria, polyphagia, reduced
