Acute dermal toxicity, LD 50: > 3160 mg/kg rabbit
Acute inhalatorial toxicity, LC 50: > 5.9 mg/l/4h (vapour); rat
Irritant effects on skin: Harmful in contact with skin.
Can be rapidly absorbed through skin causing systemic toxic effects.
Adverse effects similar to inhalation. May cause skin irritation. Will
remove the natural grease resulting in dryness, cracking and dermatitis.

Irritant effects on eyes: Irritating to eyes. May cause conjunctivitis and blurred vision.
Irritant effects after inhalation: Harmful by inhalation.
Irritant in high concentrations. Atmospheric concentrations in excess of
the occupational exposure limit may lead to headache, abdominal pain,
nausea, vomiting and dizziness.
Sensitization: It is not a sensitizer in animal tests.
Chronic toxicity: Repeated exposure to levels well above the occupational exposure limit
produce adverse effects on the liver and the digestive tract.
Carcinogenicity, Mutagenicity or DMF may cause harm to the unborn child (It was found to be
Teratogenicity: teratogenic when administered to animals in high concentrations).
There are no firm evidence of carcinogenicity from animal or other
studies.
Additional information: None
11.2. Experience in humans
Observations relevant to Classification: Liver cell damage seems to occur for a DMF exposure of more than 30
mg/m鲁 (10 ppm). Liver disorders and subjective problems are described
as reversible. At relative high exposure up to 150 mg/m鲁 period
disorders and an increased number of abortions among women were
described. Although keeping within the exposure limits the risk of
teratogenicity can not be excluded.
Further observations: Intolerance for alcohol can occur after small amounts of DMF exposure,
characterized by facial flushing.
Nitrosating agents (e.g. nitrogen oxides, nitrites) can form under
11.3. Additional information
certain circumstances nitrosamines. Nitrosamines have shown in
animal testings as cancerogenic.
The data refer to released DMF.
