PLAIN LANGUAGE HAZARD SUMMARY
Material Safety Data Sheets can be confusing. Federal and State laws require us to include a great deal of technical
information that probably won鈥檛 help the non-professional. LPS includes this 鈥淧LAIN LANGUAGE HAZARD SUMMARY鈥? to
address the questions and concerns of the average worker. If you have additional health, safety or product questions,
don鈥檛 hesitate to call us at 800/241-8334.
Worker Toxicity
LPS庐 PREMIUM LEAK DETECTOR is an environmentally friendly industrial chemical. It is a specialized fluid designed to
generate bubbles when air or gas leaks in small amounts from pressurized lines. It contains small amounts of a water-
softening agent and a detergent and could potentially cause eye irritation. Skin irritation even from extended exposure is
not anticipated. For more exposure and first aid information, refer to MSDS Sections 2, 8 and 11.
Flammability
LPS庐 PREMIUM LEAK DETECTOR is non-flammable under nearly all conditions. However, we do not know its
compatibility with liquid oxygen 鈥? do not use on LOX systems without thorough testing.
Disposal
LPS庐 PREMIUM LEAK DETECTOR is pH neutral and is typically not regulated for disposal. Consult your local P.O.T.W.
(Publicly Owned Treatment Works) for instructions on how to dispose of spent solution down sanitary sewer lines. Also,
see section 13 for additional disposal information.

Section 4 鈥? First Aid Measures
Check for and remove contact lenses. If irritation or redness develops, flush eyes with cool, clean, low
Eyes:
pressure water for at least 15 minutes. Hold eyelids apart to ensure complete irrigation of the eye and
eyelid tissue. Do not use eye ointment. Seek medical attention if irritation takes place.
If irritation takes place, remove clothing and launder before reuse. Wash skin with soap and rinse with
Skin:
water for at least 15 minutes. Seek medical attention if irritation persists.
If liquid is inhaled and this causes irritation or some other health effect, immediately move victim to fresh
Inhalation:
air. If victim is not breathing, immediately begin rescue breathing. If heart has stopped, immediately
begin cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). If breathing is difficult, seek medical attention immediately.
Do NOT induce vomiting unless directed to do so by medical personnel. Never give anything by mouth
Ingestion:
to an unconscious person. If spontaneous vomiting is about to occur, place victim鈥檚 head below knees. If
victim is drowsy or unconscious, place on the left side with head down. Do not leave victim unattended.
Seek medical attention immediately.

Section 7 鈥? Handling and Storage
Handling: Use appropriate personal protective equipment and avoid direct contact with skin. After handling, always wash
hands thoroughly with soap and water. Use only with adequate ventilation. Avoid breathing spray mists.
Storage Precautions: Keep in original container at ambient temperatures. Do not allow product to freeze. Keep container
closed. Keep out of the reach of children.
Section 8 鈥? Exposure Controls / Personal Protection
Engineering Controls: None normally required. However, if the product is sprayed in a heavy mist within a confined
space, provide general and/or local exhaust ventilation or other engineering controls to keep the airborne concentrations
low enough to prevent irritation.
Personal Protection:
Eye protection None normally anticipated. Safety goggles/Glasses should be worn if there is possibility of
splashing.
Hand protection Use chemically resistant protective gloves (i.e., nitrile or neoprene) as needed to prevent
prolonged or repeated contact.
Respiratory protection . Under normal conditions of use, lung irritation is not anticipated. However, if the material is to
be spray-misted in a poorly ventilated area, use a cartridge style respirator effective on alkali
(such as the 3M庐 N95 or equivalent).
General Hygiene Considerations: Rinse thoroughly after handling. Have eye-wash facilities immediately available.
