**** SECTION 3 - HAZARDS IDENTIFICATION ****

EMERGENCY OVERVIEW
Harmful in contact with skin. Toxic if swallowed. Very toxic by
inhalation. Causes burns. May cause sensitization by inhalation and
skin contact. May cause cancer. May cause heritable genetic damage.
Contact with combustible material may cause fire. Toxic : danger of
serious damage to health by prolonged exposure through inhalation.
May impair fertility. May cause harm to the unborn child. Very toxic
to aquatic organisms, may cause long-term adverse effects in the
aquatic environment.

Potential Health Effects
Eye:
Contact with eyes may cause severe irritation, and possible eye
burns.
Skin:
May cause skin sensitization, an allergic reaction, which becomes
evident upon re-exposure to this material. May cause deep,
penetrating ulcers of the skin. May be absorbed through the skin. May
cause severe irritation and possible burns.
Ingestion:
Harmful if swallowed. May cause liver and kidney damage. May cause
perforation of the digestive tract. May cause hemorrhaging of the
digestive tract. Causes digestive tract irritation with possible
burns.
Inhalation:
Causes respiratory tract irritation. May cause asthmatic attacks due
to allergic sensitization of the respiratory tract. May cause
ulceration and perforation of the nasal septum if inhaled in
excessive quantities. Causes chemical burns to the respiratory
tract.
Chronic:
Prolonged or repeated eye contact may cause conjunctivitis.
Prolonged or repeated skin contact may cause sensitization
dermatitis and possible destruction and/or ulceration. Prolonged or
repeated exposure may lead to asthma and perforation of the nasal
septum. Prolonged or repeated contact may cause skin necrosis and/or
ulceration of the skin. May cause cancer in humans. May cause
reproductive and fetal effects. Chronic exposure may cause acute
hepatitis with jaundice.

**** SECTION 4 - FIRST AID MEASURES ****

Eyes:
Immediately flush eyes with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes,
occasionally lifting the upper and lower eyelids. Get medical aid
immediately. Do NOT allow victim to rub eyes or keep eyes closed.
Skin:
Get medical aid immediately. Immediately flush skin with plenty of
water for at least 15 minutes while removing contaminated clothing
and shoes.
Ingestion:
Do not induce vomiting. If victim is conscious and alert, give 2-4
cupfuls of milk or water. Never give anything by mouth to an
unconscious person. Get medical aid immediately.
Inhalation:
Get medical aid immediately. Remove from exposure and move to fresh
air immediately. If not breathing, give artificial respiration. If
breathing is difficult, give oxygen.

**** SECTION 5 - FIRE FIGHTING MEASURES ****

General Information:
As in any fire, wear a self-contained breathing apparatus in
pressure-demand, MSHA/NIOSH (approved or equivalent), and full
protective gear. Strong oxidizer. Contact with other material may
cause fire. During a fire, irritating and highly toxic gases may be
generated by thermal decomposition or combustion.
Extinguishing Media:
Use extinguishing media most appropriate for the surrounding fire.

**** SECTION 6 - ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES ****

General Information: Use proper personal protective equipment as indicated
in Section 8.
Spills/Leaks:
Vacuum or sweep up material and place into a suitable disposal
container. Clean up spills immediately, observing precautions in the
Protective Equipment section. Avoid generating dusty conditions.
Provide ventilation. Approach spill from upwind. Do not let this
chemical enter the environment.

**** SECTION 7 - HANDLING and STORAGE ****

Handling:
Wash thoroughly after handling. Remove contaminated clothing and
wash before reuse. Use only in a well-ventilated area. Do not get in
eyes, on skin, or on clothing. Do not ingest or inhale. Discard
contaminated shoes. Inform laundry personnel of contaminant's
hazards.
Storage:
Do not store near combustible materials. Store in a tightly closed
container. Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area away from
incompatible substances.

**** SECTION 8 - EXPOSURE CONTROLS, PERSONAL PROTECTION ****

Engineering Controls:
Facilities storing or utilizing this material should be equipped
with an eyewash facility and a safety shower. Use adequate general or
local exhaust ventilation to keep airborne concentrations below the
permissible exposure limits.
