sodium hydroxide solution
sodium phosphate USP
citric acid anhydrous USP

boiling point: 100oC
PHYSICAL DATA:
appearance: mahogany coloured liquid
FIRE AND EXPLOSION: Betadine formulations are not flammable.
TRANSPORTATION
AND STORAGE: No special precautions.
Avoid freezing and temperatures above 40oC to preserve
product integrity.
No health hazard is posed by freezing or heating.

SPILL OR
LEAK PROCEDURES: Thorough wash-up is all that is required.
Iodine is neutralized by sodiumthiosulphate or starches,
though neutralization is not required prior to clean-up.
HEALTH HAZARD
INFORMATION:
Inhalation: Inhalation of liquid formulations is unlikely.
Skin Contact: This is an intended route of application. Wash with water.
Skin Absorption: No health hazard.
Eye Contact: Flush thoroughly with water, consult a physician.
Ingestion: No reports of ingestion have been received. Povidone-iodine
is much less corrosive than tincture of iodine. If only a small
quantity (< one ounce) has been ingested, observation only. If
a larger amount, induce vomiting. Consult a physician to
monitor thyroid function.
Reported Adverse Effects: Local hypersensitivity. Do not administer to iodine sensitive
individuals.
