a) Inhalation: Hydrogen Chloride gas and vapor can cause irritation

b) Skin and Eyes: Liquid and vapor can cause severe irritation of the skin.
Liquid or vapor can cause severe eye irritation and burns.
c) Ingestion: Causes burns of the mouth, esophagus, and stomach.
4. First Aid:
a) Inhalation: Move person to fresh air. If breathing stops give
artificial respiration-get immediate medical attention.
b) Skin: Remove contaminated clothing and wash skin with soap and
water. If irritation persists get medical attention.
c) Eyes: Wash eyes with large volumes of water for at least 15 minutes
while lifting the upper and lower eyelids and rotating the eyeball.

medical attention.

1. Exposures of 100 ppm HCl Gas for six hours per day for 50 days resulted in
only slight irritation to the eyes and nose of the test animals. Monkeys
receiving 33 ppm HCl gas for six hours did not display any adverse effects.
