TOXIC DATA
________________________________________________________________
Resin based on resins used in dental fillings. The resin is of
very low viscosity and designed to penetrate biological tissue
being an embedding resin. Hence care should be taken to minimize
1
skin contact. This is especially true if there is a previous
history of allergy to methacrylates.
RECOMMENDATIONS FOR SAFE HANDLING
________________________________________________________________
Avoid unnecessary contact with skin; wash hands after
use with soap and warm water. Apply a moisturizing
cream after use if large amounts have been spilled on
the skin.
Avoid all contact with eyes. If resin gets into the
eyes wash the eyes gently with distilled water for ten
minutes and have eyes examined by a qualified doctor,
preferably an eye specialist.
________________________________________________________________
Dispose of resin and catalyst by combining the two in a
well vented container, i.e. a bucket. To polymerize the
resin safely adds 2.5% di-methyl p. toluidine. The resin
will then cure with a little fuming as it exotherms and
should be placed in a fume cupboard or outside while this
occurs. The cool resin is harmless and may be disposed of
with other non toxic materials.
